The final MI Snocross Media Specialty Award for the 2025-2026 season is a new one. After awarding a team award for the last two seasons, we wanted to focus more on the adults who help riders succeed.

For the inaugural Mechanic of the Year award, it goes to Scott Martinson! A clutching guru, Martinson helped his son Brandon claim holeshots after holeshots on his Arctic Cat snowmobile. Scott Martinson had it figured out and many in the pits would ask for Scott's advice on what to do. A very competitive but passionate father, Scott pushed Brandon to ride his best and always made sure the snowmobile was set up to do so.

Unfortunately, Scott passed away in December. The whole MSX community has felt the loss with the Martinson family. While Scott was a favorite to win this award regardless, we wanted to do something more.

We were excited to announce that from now on, our new Mechanic of the Year award will be taking on a new addition starting next year. We can't wait to see who will win the 2026-2027 Scott Martinson Mechanic of the Year award next year!
