What a bummer. Thank YOU KHS Bicycles for being such a GREAT company to work with, it truly was like one big family. After 15 years as one of our best brands, we will truly miss you. KHS always offered great bikes at great prices and helped our small business grows. KHS cared about their 'Mom & Pop' shops more than any other through my experience.
Farewell KHS and crew! Sad to see you go.

YAY! Sunshine! So much rain lately, it's refreshing to see some sunshine finally. Besides being a little breezy, it's a GREAT day for a bike ride! Maybe even on something like this very cool, vintage Performance Salmagundi road bike. Offered as a frameset in the mid-90's by Performance, made for them by an Italian company ALAN. It's a bonded, threaded, and glued aluminum/carbon frame with an aluminum fork. It was built up with one of the first Dura-Ace brake lever/shifters (brifters) Shimano made, in 8 speeds, which are highly collectable. ALL the components are like new and from the same Dura-Ace group - The hubs, derailleurs, cassette, crankset, headset, seatpost and...the 'brifters. It's a beautiful bike and it was a gift to the 'new' owner. 'Lucky'! Like Napoleon Dynamite. It still has that older frame pump! We hope the new owner has lots of fun rides and many 'smiles per mile'. We tuned it all up, changed the pedals, added mini clips and got it ready to roll.

BIG thanks to Jason S. for bringing in his new BIG BMX bike! He brought it in a box for us to build and tune. The SE 'Big Ripper' 29'er in a beautiful, sharp-looking white. 'BIG BMX' bikes, a.k.a. 'Wheely' bikes are over-sized regular BMX bikes. Normal size wheel for BMX is 20", 24" BMX bikes we call 'cruisers' and 26", 27.5" and 29" wheels bike classify as BIG BMX bikes. Not only did we build this bike fresh out of a box, we also upgraded to a purple freewheel, that can't be seen in the picture but is really cool...we changed the front sprocket to a smaller size, and in purple, changed the pedals to ONEUP pedals and then installed MAXXIS Hookworm tires. Nice! Ready to ride and wheely 'til ya can't anymore.

Hey! It's been a while. We have just been SO busy, thankfully! Thank you so VERY much! This older Specialized Allez was given to it's new owner, who was hoping to 'fix it up' but we found a BIG problem. Do you know how this happened? That's right! You're so smart. The bike was left outside for years, in the weather, neglected and forgotten, water got into the frame, froze and basically exploded this aluminum chain stay tube. Wow. The left side of the bottom picture is what the right side SHOULD look like. This frame is toast, meaning - done, finished, ruined, un-useable and unsafe. What a bummer. So much for a 'free fixer-upper'. Please don't leave your bikes outside, especially all Winter long.
I'm so glad Spring is here. It's a beautiful day for a bike ride.

Joe R.'s B@D- bikes! Part 2 of 2 parts....bike #2. ANOTHER titanium, customized, full suspension Merlin Custom, but this one is a 29'er! This one is even nicer than the 26'er...it got all the top-notch Shimano XTR parts. ALL complete 970 series 9-speed components. This bike is so b@d-. We rebuilt the wheels on XTR hubs (to match the other parts), with black, stainless steel DT Swiss spokes, we swapped the front shock to a FOX shock w/remote lock-out (it had a Rockshox shock on it) and installed Maxxis Hook Worm 2.5 tires. We took the best of the derailleurs, brake levers, calipers, rotors, cassette, shifters & crank he had for the 29'er. We then tuned it, cleaned it and serviced the shocks. This one has a laid-back Thompson seat post and a 6-bolt Thompson stem, the same custom titanium riser bar, Chris King headset and OURY lock-on grips as the other one, plus a cool Brooks saddle under that cover. Perfecto! I bet they both ride like a dream! We wish him unlimited fun and enjoyment with his 2 b@d-, incredible, amazing bikes. Bike #2 complete!

Joe R.'s B@D- bikes! Part 1 of 2 parts....bike 1. Titanium, full suspension, customized Merlin Works 4.0 26'er! Joe came in with two incredible bikes, a TON of parts and a plan. The plan was to take certain parts off, replace them with better parts and save the better of the parts for bike #2. ALL older Shimano XTR 9-speed components in excellent/like new condition - the shifters, the brake levers, the rotors, the calipers, the hubs, the cassette, the derailleurs, cranks, bottom bracket - ALL XTR. Along with a Thompson stem, Thompson seat post, Chris King headset and a custom, titanium riser bar. Front and rear FOX suspension. New Maxxis Holy Roller tires and OURY lock-on grips to finish it up. B@d-. I had laid all the parts out, meticulously inspected every piece, cleaned it all and organized it. On this one, I had to lengthen both hydraulic lines and painstakingly got the chainring sizing the same as bike #2, as he wanted the same gearing, and crank length, on both bikes. We tuned it all up, cleaned it all up, did basic service on the shocks and this VERY nice creation is ready to ROLL! It's super-light and Super Cool! Thanks Joe!

I think we're going to change our name to 'The Old Bike Shop'...JK. Happy April Fool's Day! No, but seriously, we are having a hard time getting new bikes in stock. HARO and KHS have VERY low inventory, with lots of models completely unavailable. Sun bikes have decent stock and so does Surly but they are mostly special order bikes. Sunday and Stolen BMX bikes are not available. It's becoming a concern for us. I actually tried to apply for a couple of bike brands (that will remain un-named) and they are not taking any applications right now. Good thing is, we have lots of used bikes and we are packed full of service! Thank you very much. Where is the bike industry going? Will BRBikes survive? It remains to be seen. We'll keep going until we can't anymore.
So, GET OUT AND RIDE! Have fun, be adventurous, go exploring, get some exercise, clear your head and when you need 'anything bikes', please consider us. We'll do the best we can to help ya'all out.
