Hotarukan Naginata Dojo
Hotaru is the Japanese work for “firefly”. There are two types of fireflies native to Japan and they are named for two different samurai clans that fought against each other. It is said that the souls of those that died in their battle reside in the lights of the firefly.
Hotarukan Naginata Dojo teaches the art of Atarashii Naginata. It started as a study group in 2010 by then Gabriel Djinn Senpai. The group became a dojo in 2015 when Gabriel attained the rank of Sandan and was granted the title of Sensei in accordance.
“Those that study by the light of the firefly in winter” is what it means to be a member of Hotarukan. Come, let us give you light.
