🐟 Full house for the Annual Fish Fry and prize raffle! Guest speaker Pedro Ildefonso of KEPTI Fishing and Tsunami Tackle walked us through "The Home Stretch — Surviving the Struggle of the 2026 Fluke Season" with tips on how to adjust, adapt and finish strong. 🎣 The bar has been set in the Labor Day Fluke Tournament! Capt. Fred Truex put the DarLyn IV crew on the fish Friday — Lou Cadalzo brought a 5 lb even fluke to the scales (23.5") plus a 3 7/8 lb fish, Fred weighed a 3 1/8 lb keeper, and Frank Richetti added an 18.5" keeper of his own. Chris Jewell said it best: "Can't let these guys run away with it." The tournament runs through Monday evening — fish early and often!

📰 Good press for the club! The Coast Star ran a great piece on the Manasquan Fishing Club's annual scholarship award, presented by club president Paul Shafer to J.D. Carton — three-year member and current president of the Manasquan High School Fishing Club, headed to Salisbury University this fall. 🎣 The keeper fluke are finally showing for the guys who keep after them! Fred Truex boated this 24.5" flattie on Sunday — a fish that's right in the hunt for the club lead — and Joe Choma followed it up with a 22.5", 3.8 lb fluke off Sea Girt. Nice work, gentlemen!

🎣 Not just short fluke out there! Joe Mariano's boat found the birds and came back to the dock with a bluefin tuna on the troll, plus a pair of nice sea bass to go with it. A welcome change of pace in a tough stretch of fluking.

🎣 Fluke over the rail! The green boat crew got it done on the club's Fish Monger trip — a long day of ocean fluking, plenty of rod-bending action, and a good number of keepers in the box by the time the sun got low. Nothing beats a boat full of MFC members and a steady pick.

🎣 What a day at Big Sea Day! MFC volunteers helped 20 young anglers fish the annual youth contest — great weather, happy faces, and yes, fluke were caught.
