THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PROFESSIONALS AND REGULAR PLAYERS

The real main difference between a professional player and a regular player is the speed of play.

There's a couple factors that go into speed of play, they include;
technique, fitness, and timing.

Often times a player may have great technique, but lack the physical capacity to perform throughout the entirety of the game, other times it may be a lack of technique and timing although the player is physically a presence a lack of skill will show in speed of play.

The question then becomes how does one increase speed of play?

Speed of play can be increased by training to preform the proper techniques under the pressure of intensity and with the idea in mind how it will relate to in game play.

2 Skilled Soccer Training gives that intensity and proper technique drills in order to develop players to their potential.

TRUE OR FALSE "REPITION IS THE MOTHER OF ALL SKILL"

It is true that repetition is the mother of all skill, but this can be misconstrued to just doing a bunch of random skills over and over again and believing that the player is on the cusp of becoming a highly effective player.

This is in fact incorrect, although any time spent with the ball is beneficial drilling improperly can lead to poor development and a false understanding of training for in game development.

Training should always be with the purpose to correct, improve, or learn in game principles, techniques, and strategies to unleash the full potential of every player.

This is why it is vastly important to get precise training to develop a player into a well rounded and highly effective player.

PRIVATE SOCCER TRAINING VS TEAM PRACTICE

Private soccer training and team practice both have their place in the development of a player.

That being said an often common problem with team training is that not all the players get an equal amount of attention. Some players may get highlighted and shown more appreciation at youth levels because of their potential at a young age, this issue often leads players who haven't bloomed yet to get a chance to get the soccer training they've signed up for.

In a private session a player from any level will receive the attention they signed up for as well as a customized session cater to their level and the essentials of soccer to maximize their potential and become the best player than can become.

From my own experience with being an assistant coach or being a player on a team Ive realized that a player who is not good individually will definitely not be good on a team. Given this I also believe that a player must train on themselves individually to be a component on top level teams.

How often should someone train for soccer?

The first issue with training everyday is to make sure not to over train. Over training can lead to a myriad of issues. Starting with mental fatigue and flatness of creativity.

Training everyday should be planned based on level of fitness, skills, and objectives.

The one form of training that should be done everyday is to make sure to touch the ball for at least 15 minutes everyday. These touches can be juggling for 15 mins, practicing fundamental moves, or a combination of juggling and dribbling.

Doing the 15 minutes everyday keeps the Mind body ball connection sharp and helps to build a strong foundation of skills and ball control.

The 15 minutes should be a minimum on other days with low levels of fatigue there should be a longer more intense duration of training to really push the mental and physical aspects of one's skills and fitness.

The often forgotten idea when training foot skills....

Being a trainer for several teams I have seen many coaches go through the motions during training or unable to focus on each individual enough to make sure the players are all getting the most out of the session.

One of the most important forms when it comes to training foot skills is the attention to challenging the mind body ball connection.

This connection is developed through properly invested hours with the ball. To get the most out of foot skill training it is important to focus on good technique, but also allow your technique to suffer a little with the idea in mind to strengthen the connection between the ball body and mind.

For example: a runner when trying to break a new best time has to run faster then they have before. In doing so they're running technique may suffer because of the overload that comes from pushing to a new level.

This same concept can be applied when improving the mind ball connection. By pushing the body's ability to control the ball with increased intensity it provides the proper overload in order to strengthen and develop better ball control. A byproduct of this is faster feet and more confidence with the ball in game scenarios.
