Busy day in the Leopard Esports Den! We’ve got training going on in Smash, Mario Kart, Madden, League of Legends, and a maybe a new Teeter Motor Company favorite- Rocket League- soccer in cars!

🎮 After a great initial semester for the Shadow Leopards, competition season for the fall semester came to a close. Our Mario Kart team had a great season but fell to the #3 seed in the state tournament, Van Buren, tonight.

With over 100 Mario Kart teams in the state, our Mario Kart squad made the 32 team tournament in their first semester of existence!

The year is not over! The Leopards will have December and January to practice and be right back in action for the spring. We competed hard, and let it be known, the Shadow Leopards are coming! 🐆

🎮 Unfortunately, our Smash Bros. season came to a close yesterday as we fell to Crossett in the state playoffs. We want to congratulate our Smash Bros. team for an incredible accomplishment- making the state tournament in their first semester of competition. They’ll get some practice in December and hit the screens again in the spring.

On the heels of heartbreak, we do have some exciting news. Our Mario Kart racing team also qualified for the state tournament, and they will be competing this week!

The Shadow Leopards take on Van Buren High School this Thursday in round 1! 🐆

We’re celebrating another big team win for the Shadow Leopards in Mario Kart and keeping our eye on earning a spot in the state tournament. 🎮

Unfortunately, we witnessed a heart wrenching ending today for the Shadow Leopards in Madden. On 4th and goal from inside the five, the tying touchdown pass was broken up. Perfect time management, but the last play fell just a little short. 🏈

Mario Kart was rescheduled due to connections issue with the server and will be played next week. The Mario Kart team is clawing toward qualifying for the state tournament, so wish them luck next week.

Esports is not the next big thing- it IS a big thing! The Malvern esports program is not just an extracurricular activity, it’s a scholarship opportunity and career soft-skill builder.

PlayVS is the platform the Arkansas Activities Association uses for high school esports. The Malvern School District is set to compete at the state level in five games on four different platforms that include four team events.

Powered by Teeter Motor Company, we have already scored victories against other AAA foes this season, and we’re still on the ground floor in our first year. But if you’ll notice, we’re climbing the stairs quickly!
