Wishing all a Happy, Horsey, Halloween Weekend!

This week we enjoyed visiting with a legendary friend from Sleepy Hollow, yee-hawing with Western Barbie, conquering adventures with Wonder Woman, sock-hopping all the way back to the 1950s, and finding magic with a Unicorn and Bunny friend.

Not pictured: The many other wonderful costumes our participants brought to the Farm, including an incredible Norman Rockwell inspired creation, a bumble bee, and a boot-stompin' crew of cowgirls!

Spotlight on Thorncroft Instructor, Claire Oestreich!

Did you know that, in addition to her advanced-level teaching certifications, Claire also serves as the Pennsylvania Ambassador for PATH International and recently led the planning of the PATH Intl. Region II Conference? Her passion for education is matched only by her enthusiasm for her work and for her participants, volunteers, horses, and team.

Recently announced as an invited speaker, Claire will share her expertise as part of PATH International's Fall Break to Educate Series with her presentation, Planning for Progression.

Thorncroft was honored to host the PATH International Region II Conference on Sunday, October 11, helmed by Claire Oestreich and an incredible task force of instructors from Region II programs, Thorncroft staff, volunteers, and supporters.

The weekend furthered a universal commitment to advancing equine-assisted services for our horses, our participants, our staff, volunteers, and community.

A special thank you to the horses that make it all possible and who brilliantly shared their gifts with attendees to further their education.

Welcome back, friends!

New week marks the return of friends in our Adult Horsemanship Program (AHP).

Founded and led by Missy Zepka, CTRI, with incredible support from Lead Volunteer Janice Conner, and instructor Jane Higgins, AHP offers lessons to participants over the age of 21 in horsemanship, farm stewardship, (including the most plentiful and thriving garden you will ever see!) and community.

We are thrilled to welcome 15 participants for another year of learning together!

Thorncroft - Out & About!

Visit our Equine Ambassadors at Dressage at Devon's Dressage Explorers Day on Sunday, September 27! Event starts at 10:00 a.m.

Meet our horses and chat with our Director of Equine Operations, Amber Brown, lead volunteers, and working students.

Dressage Explorers Day offers a full lineup of family-friendly fun! From hands-on activities to horse-themed adventures, there is something for every young equestrian enthusiast.

Kids and adults can explore the grounds, meet exhibitors, and cheer on freestyle performances in the arena. It is a day built to spark curiosity, creativity and connection. General admission tickets required. Children under 12 free.

Welcome, Sea Victory!

"Victory" is an 18-year-old Thoroughbred who joins us through the kindness of his prior owner, John, with whom he enjoyed time foxhunting and pleasure riding.

Victory joins our fellow off-the-track Thoroughbreds (Tako and Bentley), and while unraced, Victory displays the same characteristics of this hard-working, lovable breed, who excel in their post-racing careers.

Victory stepped in without missing a beat-he is an exemplary teacher for his students and an absolute gentleman!
