Here is another really good graphic regarding suppressor sales. Green is 4473, yellow is form 4, and red is no sales.

Important to remember, suppressor sales are the same as pistols, you must transfer in your state. Just because you live in a green state, but are visiting a yellow state, you must follow the laws of the state you are in.

For those folks still in form 4 states, the approval process is incredibly fast, individual forms are coming back inside 24 hours, and I’ve seen conventional trusts approve within a week.

The ATF has made their decision!

Heres the short of how I understand it IN MONTANA…

Suppressors will need to be sold via a licensed SOT (dealer to sell suppressors, as has occurred in the past).

The ATF has opened up the sales to all buyers who can legally own a suppressor, not just those in the lawsuit.

Montana still has laws on the books that mandates we go through the form 4 process, so we will still do form 4s until that state law changes.

This is all federal information in direction to short barrel ri**es, short barrel sh****ns, silencers, and any other weapons. This is not state by state, so check with your local state before jumping to conclusions.

And most importantly, don’t take the advice from someone on the internet- go to www.atf.gov and read the pdf and the FAQs, it’s on the main page!
