To promote the study of the Chinese Martial Arts and for the development of physical, mental, and general well-being of students, Wah Lum Kung Fu & Tai Chi Academy offers a wide variety of training programs to allow members to become well-rounded martial artists. Basic training includes Kung Fu exercises, fist-forms, weapons forms, self-defense applications, free sparring, as well as the philosophical aspects of Wah Lum Kung Fu. Students will be taught at the rate of their own abilities, and in this respect, a high standard of Kung Fu is achieved. Advanced training is also available for those who seek a higher level of knowledge and achievement. This may include advanced forms and weapons usage, advanced self-defense and application techniques.

In 2006, Wah Lum Academy started in Sifu Mai Du’s driveway. Last weekend, we celebrated 20 years of anchoring, empowering, and celebrating the community.

Thank you to all of our esteemed community leaders, elected officials, and honored martial arts guests for their appearance and their participation in a special eye dotting ceremony to awaken two new lions. We are also grateful to MA Governor Maura Healey, Steve Ultrino for State Representative, State Rep Donald Wong, State Rep Erika Uyterhoeven, Mayor of Malden Gary Christenson City of Malden (Official), Mayor of Quincy Thomas Koch, and Mayor Michelle Wu 吳弭 for further honoring Wah Lum Academy with citations for two decades of excellence.

In addition to our own lion, dragon, kung fu and tai chi performances, we also had special guest performances from around the globe. Great thanks to the Wah Lum Kung Fu Temple, Wah Lum Kung Fu Athletic Association, New England Headquarters, Wah Lum Kung Fu and Tai Chi of Melbourne, Sifu Mark Vuong, Zhong Yi Kung Fu Association - 忠義國術館, Wah Lum Kung Fu of Knoxville, and Kampfkunstschule Wah Lum Pai for their exciting performances.

Finally, we are sharing deep gratitude for our team and volunteers, and our own Sifu Mai Du, Sifu Amy Tran, and Sifu Andrea So for all their loving labor in the last 20 years.

Congratulations to all our competitors who participated at the USKSF Tournament in Maryland. Thank you to the organizers, judges, and volunteers for all their efforts in planning this wonderful and meaningful tournament.

This year, Wah Lum Academy came home with:
🥇 Adult Team Championship 2026
🥈 Youth Team 2nd Place 2026
🏆 Nine Nominations for Competitor of the Year 2025: SiHing Zack DeSario, SiJye Maile Doroquez, SiHing Edison Zheng, SiJye Sophia Zheng, SiHing Kobe Yee, SiHing Marcus Lam, SiHing Eleanor Gomez, SiJye Livi Luu, and SiJye Ellie Povlich.
🏆 Youth Girl Competitor of the Year 2025: SiJye Livi Luu

Our team collectively won 172 medals: 54 gold🥇, 40 silver🥈, 33 bronze🥉, 33 4th place 🏅, and 12 5th-8th place medallions!

We are so very grateful to Sifu Mai Du (Chief Instructor), Sifu Amy Tran, and Sifu Andrea So for their leadership. We also have so much gratitude for our SiSooks, SiJyes, SiHings, and Wah Lum families for all their support to our team. See you next year! 💫
