Senpai Emmery leading warm up!

Along with our physical practice at the dojo, we practice our growth as human beings. One such practice is getting out of our comfort zone. Being a leader comes naturally for some but not for most. It can be a very uncomfortable feeling to stand in front of so many people and hope that they will listen to you respectfully.

Martial arts teaches us to be confident and calm when we are put into an uncomfortable situation. Through practice, you face that fear and overcome it.

Karate has taught and given me so much in my life. One of the best gifts is amazing students.

A hui ho to my student . You have been a great Senpai to all the students when I was unable to teach and we will all miss you greatly. All 21 one of them enjoyed sparring you as your parting gift.

Always lead by example! I believe an instructor should always be able to perform what they ask of their students and more.

It's always great to have the older students train with the younger students. Besides having a bunch of fun. They all get to learn from each other and be comfortable around different age groups.

The ohana is growing and I can't wait to see the amazing human beings they will all grow up to be.

Who's excited for Karate.....this guy!!!!🤣

One of the greatest joys in my life is being able to teach my son something that I love and that's Karate.

Following Senpai's direction and stretching😁

A huge part of Karate and many styles of martial arts is staying humble. Knowing that there is always something to learn no matter how far you travel in your martial arts journey.

You start as the student learning and following instructions. Then as you progress, you eventually become a senior student or Senpai in karate. Taking on more of a leadership role and teaching those same things.

I learn so much from all my students whether it's about Karate or something else like Minecraft 🤣 Just because you are a Senpai or a Sensei doesn't mean you can't learn something from your students. Stay humble🤙
