Hey everyone. Well needed message here. We’ve been hearing a few rumors going around about our team, and I would like to settle them down.
I first want to address our most SERIOUS issue. That is of a team member possibly sneaking into Devil’s Playground without paying. This was brought to our attention at diamondback by staff at registration, and we are working with field staff to fix it. As soon as the appropriate party sends me a report on what he has witnessed, if it is true, that member will be removed from the team. In short, we are just waiting for hear from him. If it is found true, we will be paying for the amounts of games he has snuck into. Theft is a huge no-no with our team. Any member caught stealing, would be immediately removed from the team. Not only would this be stealing from Devil’s Playground, but it would be stealing from all of you. In total, maybe $3,000 went missing in DP’s first year, because of people sneaking in. That money could have gone into bettering the field for all of you. So if this is true, we want to give our most sincere apologize, to Devil’s Playground, to our sponsors, and to all of you. As soon as we hear from the staff, we will take immediate action depending on what is said.
Next issue is people thinking that our team is falling apart. This isn't true. I am not sure why anyone would think this, but I’m going to say a few things that might be the reason why.
Limited Attendance: Sadly, most of our team members have jobs. If we happen to be off work, we attend open plays. But we only request work off for MilSims.
Members Leaving: We have a few members who temporarily dropped out due to low funds/summer travel. Don’t worry, they’re coming back!
Those are the only reasons I can think of? Our team does social events together outside of airsoft to bond, so really, it’s the exact opposite of falling apart. We’re getting stronger.
And last but not least, Cheating Issues at Diamondback. There was an instance when we were called out for being out of bounds by some members in tan. I personally wasn't on the field for this, as I was talking to Lisa about the player sneaking in thing, so I reviewed the incident on Killjoy’s helmet cam. On the camera, I saw no one out of bounds. I also was told Stonewall said we were in bounds. But the camera doesn't catch everything at all angles. So just in case, I do want to mention that if any members were out of bounds, it was an honest mistake, and I do apologize if it happened. In the comments below, you will find a screenshot from the helmet cam footage showing that while we were close to the border of the rope boundary, we were not behind it. Jonah was awesome enough to give us our own unique faction (Rogue Rangers). We hope for it to happen again! But we have to earn that. We wouldn't jeopardize it by cheating. We really do try to keep this sport honest, and we even will call ourselves out if someone says they think they hit us, as long as it’s within reason.
So if you’re still reading this post, I thank you. As stated, we are still working to find out about the Sneaking In issue. We will post an update as soon as we hear from DP Staff, and have made our decision.
Thank you.
