During competitive fishing tournaments, unexpected challenges test a team's resilience just as much as their angling skills. 2026 MN High School fishing teams faced severe weather and sudden mechanical breakdowns, their adaptability and teamwork earned both teams respectable positions on Leech lake this year.
All teams encountered high winds and rough chop that made navigating and holding position over key fishing spots nearly impossible. To make matters worse, mechanical issues struck multiple teams including our own.
​One boat suffered an engine failure, leaving the team unable to run main power to reach spots across the lake. Another boat struck a large wave losing multiple rods to the lake and swamping the boat! Congratulations to Cole Unklesbay and Henry Carlson for taking 5th with 25.51lbs and Congratulations to Landen Seeger and Hunter Roen for taking 45th with 11.70lbs out of 79 boats. Also congratulations to Cole and Henry for getting the biggest bass of the tournament at 5.26 lbs.

Congratulations to Blake and Landon for second place in the conference!!! They will be heading to the State Tournament in Wabasha MN on Sept 7-8!

But before that, they are leaving tomorrow to head to TN to fish in the National Championship on Lake Chickamauga. They earned a berth into this by placing 5th place in the State Tournament last summer. We are proud of you boys and GOOD LUCK!!

Today Blake and Landon took second place at their fishing league tournament on Lake Waconia. They had a total weight of 15.9.

On June 21 they took 4th place on Foest Lake. Bringing in a total of 12.9. Blake also won biggest bass, weighing in at 3.8.

These boys sure enjoy the sport and put in the hardwork and dedication. So proud of both of them and super greatful for Denny Hogan for being their boat captain and being just as dedicated.

A derby has been setup for this week. It will be at Bass Lake in New Richmon, WI again. Launch at Bass Lake Boat Launch on 153rd Ave. The derby will be from 4:30pm and 8pm, join in anytime you arrive (meaning you don't have to be there right away).
