Yasuragi Dojo

Yasuragi Dojo The Yasuragi Dojo, is a traditional school Japanese martial arts, teaching Jissen Kobudo Jinenkan.

The Yasuragi Dojo has been active in supporting the promotion and practice of traditional Japanese martial arts and culture in Putnam County, New York for over twelve years. The school began under the name Yasuragi Center in 2000 and was home to an authentic Budō Dōjō and non-profit Japanese Cultural Arts Center.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this weekend for the Jinen-Ryu Ni-To-Jutsu (自然流二刀術) – Chi no Maki workshop with Amanda Charrier.

Students trained with us both in person and online, representing three different countries. This keiko focused on uchi dachi keiko, training to learn how to set up and execute attacks.

We appreciate everyone’s strong spirit and commitment throughout the weekend. Here are a few photos from the workshop.

Founded by Unsui Sensei, Jinen Ryu Nitojutsu draws on years of classical training in arts such as Koto Ryu, Gyokko Ryu, Kukishin Ryu, Takagi Yoshin Ryu, Shinden Fudo Ryu, and Togakure Ryu.

The art of wielding two swords was inspired by nature itself — wind, clouds, snow, and flowing water — movements that flow freely and without force.

Jinen Ryu Nitojutsu teaches that true strength lies not in physical power, but in spirit, technique, and body with natural movement.
