Sound ON to hear why I switched to Total Body workouts about five years ago. I’m not here to convince everyone to change their methods, BUT if you’re looking for a switch, or maybe just some new ideas to implement into your workout routine, follow along as I post sample Total Body workouts.

After just a few months of switching to Total Body workouts, I noticed a significant gain in strength AND I was leaning out, without even trying to 🤯 I always say, “Focus on Strength & the Aesthetics will come.”

Give this workout a try and see how you feel. For me, I feel strong, I recover well, & I don’t spend hours working out.

Total Body workouts are the best way to efficiently gain strength and improve your physique. Yes, I train back, chest, & glutes 4x a week. Our bodies are designed to work every single day, but since I don’t spend an entire workout on one or two muscle groups, my recovery time is much faster. Also, I vary the exercises, so one day may include chin-ups or a lat pulldown. The next day, I do a row. The same muscle group is working, but in a different movement pattern.

Hip thrusts are in nearly every one of my workouts, but I vary the focus: heavy, paused, single leg, pulse, scoop…

Additionally, I don’t do many isolation exercises. Rarely do I train biceps, because they are worked on a chin-up or supinated pulldown. Shoulders & triceps work during bench press, so if you focus on a few compound lifts, your entire body gets trained.

For core, I try to add one tough exercise 2-4 days a week, depending on time. I like to have two days on, followed by 1-2 days off, & every day I try to get in a good walk with the dogs.

Follow along, as I’ll be posting several sample Total Body workouts. Give them a try and see if you don’t love the efficiency AND the results.
