Great Salt Lake Open Water Marathon Swim

We are sad to announce that we have decided to cancel the 2023 swim.

Unfortunately, water levels are extremely low. If you swam last year, you know that we barely made it work. The GSL water level has gone down significantly since then and there is not currently water deep enough to swim near the Marina.

We have had a lot of snow this year and it is possible that the water level will come up enough to swim this year. However, it is uncertain enough that we have decided not to take the risk.

Hopefully we will continue to get wet winters and will learn to conserve water so that we can put this event on again.

We have a 10K swimmer coming from out of state this weekend that is in need of a paddler. He has done the swim before as well as many other marathon swims. He had a kayak and all the other gear and just needs someone to paddle for him. Let us know if you are able to help!

Congrats to this year's Utah Triple Crown and Mini Triple Crown Swimmers! It was a great turnout this year and we had the by far the most Mini Triple Crown swimmers to date.

In an effort to keep everyone safe, we have decided to cancel this year's event. We will issue refunds to everyone who has registered.

Unless things take a turn for the worse, the Bear Lake Monster Swim and Deer Creek Open Water Marathon Swim will proceed as scheduled.

For anyone interested in doing the Mini Triple Crown or the Utah Triple Crown, please email us at [email protected] for details on how you can certify you swim on your own.
