Stance Martial Arts & Karate 4 Kids Stance Martial Arts & Karate 4 Kids is a life-skills education course designed for students age 3-14. Each combo consists of several basic techniques.

Life Skills

Life Skills are attributes that allow the student to navigate the world with confidence. Courtesy, integrity, Responsibility, and Self Control are key elements to understanding martia

l arts. Whereas the casual observer sees karate as violent, the practitioner understands that it is a study of human etiquette and appreciation for all life. Basics

Basics are individual techniques, usually performed in repetition to strengthen the student’s familiarity with the material. Combos

Combos are performed by all ranks but are used in tournaments primarily for tots and beginner juniors. Combos are used to strengthen reaction times, improve rhythm and provide inspiration for creative thinking in sparring. Patterns

Patterns are set movements, requiring attention to detail and memorization. Patterns usually contain many techniques, moving in several directions, and must be performed in a specific order. Patterns allow the students to perfect technique, timing, and awareness. Sparring

Sparring is the study of combat. Protective gear is worn by the player to ensure maximum safety. The pace is slower than real combat, and the techniques thrown are done so with minimal contact presented. Sparring under these conditions increases the learning process by decreasing the fear associated with combat. Ground skills

Students learn basic positions and submissions of ground defense. Ground defense is implemented if a confrontation goes to the ground and striking or kicking is not an option. Drills are generally done with a partner. Games

Games are a huge part of the Karate 4 Kids experience. Our games incorporate and strengthen skills learned in class. Games are awarded at the end of class as a reward for hard work. Belts

Changing belts is crucial to our program. It sets benchmarks for the student to measure progression and creates self-confidence by setting and achieving a goal.

Tomorrow night (Tuesday 12/2) is our Magee Christmas parade! We will need to be in line by 5pm! Students will need to be dressed out in uniform & belt but can layer underneath & wear hats & gloves or Stance sweatshirt! We cannot throw candy!!! Ms. Payten, Ms. Gracie, & Ms. Lauryn will be in charge. If you need Payten’s phone number message me! Below is a map of where yall will meet! We are PINK 10!!!
