We are hosting the East Tennessee Senior Golf Association Tournament on Thursday morning. The course will be closed until apx 1:30 pm for play at which point we will be able to turn golfers loose. The driving range will be open all day. The Thursday SWAT is still on as well.

Morning Ladies and Gents. I’m getting absolutely blown up this morning about sign ups for the July 4th tournament.

I had several family events this weekend and didn’t get a few things finalized to begin signups today so we are pushing them back to Wednesday.

We are making a few changes to the format to make this better for everyone however (For example, there will be a Championship as well as age divisions that you can chose to declare for. Also, we are having many people ask to play as early as possible. We had intended to do tee times but we are getting so many requests for early tee times, we are going to do a shotgun start for both AM and PM).

Last call for the Blount County Amateur Tourney!

MGC is going to celebrate America 250. This wasn’t on our tournament schedule but (open book) we need a new mower. So July 4th, we are going to have an individual tournament. Am tee times will begin at 8:00 AM. PM Tee times will begin at 2:30. 8 minute increments and we gotta play fast. 52 players in morning and 52 in afternoon.

$65.00 per person.
One tournament am and pm . Ties will be scorecard playoff. All places.
1st place $600
2nd place $500
3rd place $400.
50th $300
51st $200
52nd $100

5 closest to pins - $100.00 each
MgC will have tents on par 3’s. One mulligan per person (5 bucks) but closest to pin is first shot only. No other mulligans will be available. Just tee shot on the 5 Par 3’s.

Also, to make this as competitive as possible. 59 and younger will play white/orange tees. Seniors 60 -69 will play blue/gold as usual. Ladies red of course. Gentlemen 70 and above will play from super senior tees (red). Lowest lady round and lowest super senior round will get a Benjamin for their efforts unless they win one of the other 6 prizes.

We will have food available for sale (food truck of some type - we will figure that out)
Bounce house and/or waterslide for participants kids thru out the day. Driving range games for the kids also. We might even have a fireworks show at dark. Obviously payouts are contingent on a full field. This is Gary by the way. CH and Jeremy might have a stroke when they see this. Sign ups will begin this Monday.

We are typically closed Monday mornings until Noon for green maintenance. However, we will open at 8:00 AM weather permitting on long holiday weekends throughout the year.

I asked someone last Monday if he would do a rain dance when we were discussing the drought. Time to quit dancing - You have done your job.

Let’s hope the heavy stuff misses us overnight and tomorrow and we can get you turned loose at 8:00.
