This is for the YAA family, wanted to come on here and address a few things going on with the organization. It is with a heavy heart that I even have to make this post. We as a board were waiting to post publicly until all meetings had been made and everything had been confirmed with both parties but since the city chose to make this public on the Monday morning radio show with Brad Long as well as the article in the messenger we felt it necessary and obligated to reach out to the YAA members. The decision for the company hired to run the sports complex to take over the YAA was discussed and made without the knowledge of the YAA organization. However government agencies cannot run a non profit organization therefore there will have to be a name change and will no longer be ran as non profit as it has been since 1974, yes 50 years this organization has served the children of this community with full support until I guess by coincidence the sports complex has been completed and able to hold tournaments of every sport besides baseball/softball due to not having the fields to do so. The future of this organization is yet to be determined. We have been denied access to past records and YAA property that is located at the ballpark by the locks being changed without our knowledge. I wish I had the reasoning behind this change that made some sort of sense but I don’t,like I said this was all done without our knowledge or agreement and we have been surprised and hurt with everything we have come to learn. I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of serving the children of Hopkins county as well as some surrounding counties for the last 15 years it has been a great joy. If there is anything I can do for any of you or answer any questions regarding the YAA please don’t hesitate to reach out and I will respond to the best of my ability. Again thank you all as a community for allowing me and my family to be a part of all children involved in this organization past and present.
