So... Starting to shape sand the batch I just got from my CNC friends. What's really nice about cutting the blanks out on the CNC mill is not just that it saves me work and time getting to the rough shape step, but that is starts me off with a uniformity and consistency that I could not get otherwise. That means boomerangs that fly better, more consistently, and less variability from boomerang to boomerang.

When I started making boomerangs, I cut each one with a jigsaw and then spent days making sure each blank was as uniform as possible before I started hours and hours of shaping the rough profile... Now with modern CNC technology, each blank is uniformly cut and rough shaped for me from the wood before I start the final shaping and sanding into its final form, allowing me to spend much more time on the art and making the final result as consistent and smooth as it can be. The one on the right is the rough shape from the CNC mill, the one on the left is nearly final shape sanded.
