79% of young girls & 85% of adult women report opting out of important life events because they don’t believe they look good enough.

I’m not surprised.

Because I’ve been there.

I get it.

I would be the biggest liar if I said I look in the mirror and the only thoughts in my brain are positive.

In a world where you can drastically change how you look and you’re judged if you do or don’t… I bet these percentages will grow.

Not being able to participate in your life because of how you feel about yourself is incredibly depressing.

These thoughts of how you look can either propel you to change OR keep you stuck.

And it all starts in your head.

Feeling confident in your appearance is a skill. And skills take TIME and PATIENCE to develop. They also take constant practice and will evolve over time.

This is your reminder that it’s okay to NOT feel confident all the time… BUT it’s also a reminder that you need to work on feeling your best in who you are and how you show up in this world for YOU.

ADULT OF THE MONTH: JUNE

Our Adult of the Month is Christina Hearne!!

Christina has done an amazing job this past month and we couldn’t be more proud

Christina has not missed sessions even when she and her family are in the middle of an extensive moving process. Moving is very stressful and can cause people to forget to take care of themselves. Christina has done the exact opposite and has been extremely consistent and did amazing during our last Spring into Fitness Challenge. Great job Christina!

Here is a bit about Christina:

How long have you trained with us at BCI?

I have been training at BCI for 7 years.

What do you think has been the most beneficial part about training with us?

Consistency and coaching. This is the longest I have stuck with any training program. While the workouts change month to month, I know the quality and the coaching will remain the same. I love not having to use my brain, I show up early in the morning and you tell me what to do.

Outside of the gym, what are some of your favorite things to do?

I love watching my kids play ball and dance!⚽️ 🏈 ⚾️ 🏐 🏀 💃
I also recently started playing pickleball and love it!

Congrats Christina! You are awesome and we are so proud of you! We love you! Keep up the good work and keep being awesome!

There’s no such thing as a healthy person who doesn’t incorporate weight training.

That sounds kinda dramatic but if you are not resistance training with actual weights, you are simply going to wither away.

Once again, dramatic, but the truth.

Movement is still movement but if 0 of your movement involves lifting weights to improve skeletal muscle mass… You may be in for some health issues later on in life.

OR you simply haven’t reached your FULLEST potential. Which is kinda sad.

• You can’t just put in 20m on an elliptical and call it good.
• You can’t just pop a pill and call it good.
• You can’t just hold onto a bar and squeeze a ball between your knees and call it good.
• You can’t just run marathons and call it good.

At some point you HAVE TO PROGRESS. And guess what- with weight training it’s so incredibly easy to track your progression.

Strength training is THE best medicine. Just look up the benefits and research around it… the list of positives goes on and on.

So the next time you’re headed to the gym, set an intention to lift something!!!

I have not known 1 person who got outstanding results that DID NOT prep for a consistent period of time.

Preparing for your BUSY life is the 🔑 to making it FEEL less busy.

Meal prep is part of that preparation.
