Just as proud of our other driver, Kennedy Hale, as she wraps up her second season of Super Pro bracket racing at WWT.

This season may not have brought the number of wins she was hoping for, but that does not tell the whole story. Every pass down the track, she continued to grow as a driver, and no matter how many setbacks came her way, she never gave up.

We thought we had gotten the Chevy II lined out over the winter, but after the first two points weekends, it became pretty clear that the car’s inconsistencies were still there and she wasn’t going to have much of a fighting chance in Super Pro. On the third points weekend, we made the decision to put her in the newly acquired ’95 Camaro.

Even with very little seat time in the car, she immediately started seeing results. In fact, her very first race in the Camaro turned out to be her best points race of the season, racing her way down to just nine cars.

Kennedy finished the season 17th in points. It wasn’t where she wanted to be, but she had a lot of fun competing alongside so many racers she respects, and she gained valuable experience every time she staged the car. There is no doubt she will continue putting in the work and improving as a driver.

And while she was racing the Camaro at the WWT points races, she was also continuing to drive the Chevy II at Bonne Terre in an effort to get it more consistent. After making a carburetor change, the Nova finally seems to be coming around and showing the consistency we have been looking for.

Her season isn’t quite over yet, either. She has at least one more race planned in the Camaro and possibly another in the Nova before we officially shut things down for the year.

We also have to give this girl a HUGE shoutout for everything she does behind the scenes at Hale Racing. Kennedy is the definition of a team player and does so much at the track to keep everything moving.

She single-handedly made it possible for her brother to compete in three classes this season. When Cohen was going rounds, she was prepping tires, running up for chip draws, making sure he had everything he needed for the next round, and she was always one of the first people to jump in and get her hands greasy when motor problems hit — which happened more than once this season!

She is an incredible asset to Hale Racing, both behind the wheel and in the pits, and we are extremely grateful for everything she does for this team.

Super proud of you, K! 💚💙 Keep putting in the work, keep learning, and chasing the dream! We can’t wait to see where next season takes you!

Well…it definitely wasn’t how we anticipated the weekend going, but then again…that’s drag racing for ya!

Cohen made it down to 5 cars in 7.90 Index Saturday morning before going out on a .004 red light. He then made two time runs for Race of Champions. First round, he and his opponent were nearly identical on the starting line, but about 50 feet out, Cohen windowed the block.

Back at the pit, the motor swap started immediately. Cohen has gotten very familiar with the process, and with us being in a serious time crunch, that experience definitely helped things move quickly. It was all hands on deck, but we still didn’t get it finished in time to make a time run for Pro Sportsman.

With no current data to go off of, Cohen looked back at some runs from July and took a stab at the dial. Unfortunately, the car sputtered all the way down the track. We quickly realized we were going to have to pull the clutch off the broken motor. It had been stuck, and in the rush of the swap we decided to use a spare we had instead. We got the original clutch off and changed the carb, but not in time to make the buyback for round two.

He made a test hit later that night…and it did the exact same thing.

Co came back to the trailer, changed the carb back to the old one, and it finally made a clean pass. We think the other carb wasn’t opening all the way on that first run, which meant we had also set the throttle stop way too short.

This morning, we got two time runs for Age Group. The car made a decent pass, but it was a little rich and popped a couple of times. Cohen went down a couple jet sizes and dumped five pounds, picking up 16 numbers. He threw some weight back on for first round, but the car dropped about 500 RPM on the starting line. He was .070 on the tree and got behind by .008, losing by less than .001 in a double breakout.

Needless to say, the weekend turned into a whole lot of trial and error while trying to figure out the best combination.

Thank you to Bryan Allison for taking a look at things, and to the Mudros for offering up parts if we needed them and checking in on us throughout the weekend. If you happened to stop by our pit in the middle of the chaos, it looked like a full-blown motor massacre — tools and parts literally everywhere!

These are the moments that definitely test you, but one thing I know about Cohen is that when it comes to drag racing, he is all grit and no quit.

Watching him thrash on that car under pressure was quite a sight and really made me stop and think about just how far he has come in this sport. From that little seven-year-old boy who was completely reliant on Dad for everything—from buckling him in, to dial-in decisions, to all of the maintenance and upkeep—to watching Dad slowly start taking a backseat over the years, and now seeing Cohen basically become a completely independent one-man show…

That is the ultimate full-circle moment.

The wins and trophies are great, but watching him become the driver, mechanic, tuner, and problem-solver he is today might just be the biggest win of all!

It’s race day and we’re chasing some Wallys! 🏆

Co has a full day ahead with 7.90 Index, Race of Champions, and Pro Sportsman all on tap!

This race was originally scheduled back in August but got rained out and landed on the same weekend as the D3 Team Finals in Norwalk. That left Co with a decision to make — the Jr. or the Camaro.

He decided he wanted one more shot at a Jr. championship… and Lyons being a whole lot closer didn’t hurt either! 😄

Time to see what we can make happen today!

Cohen got it done in his Jr. at Wabash last night! 🏆

It was definitely a hot one, and one of the biggest challenges was simply seeing the tree with the bright sun shining directly behind it. It’s been a little while since we raced here, and we had forgotten about that factor!

Co was also hoping to add a second High School Diamond Wally to the collection, but the Camaro was just a little too inconsistent in the extreme heat. He still made a solid run at it and ended the night in the semifinals.

And now the countdown is really getting real…only two High School races and about five or six Jr. races left on the schedule for this guy. We’re definitely soaking up every race, every round, and every moment of this final stretch of the Farewell Tour.

What a way for Cohen to wrap up the 2026 points season!

🏆 HIGH SCHOOL — 2026 POINTS CHAMPION

Cohen went into Championship Weekend leading the points by 55 and only needed one round win to officially clinch the championship.

Not only did he get that first-round win, but he kept going, earned a bye into the final, and finished the day with the WIN! That made Sunday pretty much pressure-free, but he still went right back to the final again, finishing runner-up.

Out of the 9 points races this season, Cohen went to 6 finals and won 5 of them, earning the 2026 High School Points Championship!

This one feels especially good after last season. The Camaro was new to Cohen and, to put it nicely, it was a pretty rough year. The car let him down several times, but Co paid attention, took notes, and knew exactly what mechanical changes he wanted to make over the winter. He also decided he wanted to learn HP Tuners so he could tune the car himself round by round.

It was a lot of work — and a lot of money 🤣 — but seeing the success he had with it this season made it all worthwhile.

The Camaro has really become Cohen’s special project. He pretty much runs the car on his own, and there is a whole lot to be proud of there.

🥈 SPORTSMAN — POINTS RUNNER-UP

Cohen put on one heck of a show in the final two Sportsman races of the season, which also happened to be two of the biggest races of the year with more than 30 cars in the field.

He came into the weekend sitting 3rd in points — 49 points out of 2nd and 98 points out of 1st.

On Saturday, he turned on six win lights, including the one that mattered most in the final.

Then he came back Sunday and DID IT AGAIN. 🏆🏆

Those back-to-back wins moved him all the way into 2nd place for the season, just 21 points behind the champion.

Sunday’s win also gave him the opportunity to race in the King of the Track race, where he made it all to the final before breaking out by just .002.

Not bad for a “bonus” class that he originally planned to run mostly for extra laps and to use the free entries he earned through High School! The Camaro not only carried him to the High School Championship, but also made for a pretty exciting late-season run in Sportsman.

🥈 JR. LIGHTNING — POINTS RUNNER-UP

Jr. Lightning was definitely a season of ups and downs.

Cohen started the year a little slow, but once things started clicking, he went to back-to-back finals and made up 76 of the 77 points he had been behind.

Then…the motor broke.

He swapped in one of our backup motors for the next race, and that turned into a total disaster. 😅 Thankfully, we were able to get his original motor repaired in time for Championship Weekend. Also of note, Cohen did both of these complete motor swaps by himself (Doug was at work). Junior crew chief for hire next season...who needs one? 😆

Saturday ended early with a red light. He went some rounds Sunday, but just couldn’t make up enough ground to take over the number-one spot.

He finished the season Runner-Up in Jr. Lightning.

There are still about 6–7 Jr. races left on Cohen’s farewell tour, but I don’t think it’s much of a secret where his heart has been this season. He’s licensed and ready for Super Pro next year, and there’s a pretty good chance you’ll still see that Camaro in the lanes too.

Very proud of Co for all the hard work he has put in this year and for his ability to jump from car to car, run back-to-back classes, and keep his head in the game through all of it.

This was the first season in two years that he didn’t have a schedule conflict and was able to make every points race — and he had an absolute blast doing it.

Without a doubt, this was his best overall year of driving yet.

Championship Weekend at WWT!

There was a lot of incredible racing this weekend (more to come on that later), but the BEST part was watching the 18-year-old get his first crack at the “King of the Track”race!

It’s a pretty rare opportunity—the winners from each of the four classes — Super Pro, Pro, Super Pro Bike, and Sportsman — face off for the title. It made for a very late night getting home, but it was completely worth it to watch the underdog in his street car line up against some serious heavy hitters.

After a quick chip draw, Cohen matched up first with Super Pro Bike winner, the always tough, BJ Evans. Cohen took the win with a .006 light, his best of the day!

That sent him to the final against Super Pro winner Cody Wiggins in his very fast, very loud, 4.30 blown dragster. Cohen always loves a challenge, and he was hyped for this matchup! He even ran back to the trailer to grab his GoPro. 🤣 (Video below!)

Cohen stepped it up again on the tree with a .004 light, but broke out by just .002. No win light this time, but he had an absolute blast and threw everything he had at that dragster!

Keep at it, Co. I have no doubt there is a King of the Track win in your future!

Cohen got it done in ET class at Bonne Terre last Saturday night. He won all five rounds and ran the final against a familiar WWT competitor, where Cohen's starting line advantage gave him the win!

Kennedy also had a great night. She decided to get back behind the wheel of the Chevy II. She won all five rounds of Box but came up short in the final.

All in all, it was a great opportunity to turn on some win lights and get some laps in before the upcoming Championship Weekend at WWT.
