Formerly Dan River Outfitters. We hated to abandon our old page due to 11K followers, however, early on it was mainly on lookers.

Our goal is to become the best tubing Adventure one can have. After tubing the river all day, stay in one of our camp areas

that are spaced out. We refuse to PACK them in for profit sake. We want you to get away from the world for a bit. We may not be the cheapest, but we are trying to be the best. After all we are the "Art of River Fun"!

When Guilford and Rockingham counties join hands for the furry kiddos, good things happen. 💙🐾

Well friends, we couldn't control Mother Nature and her sassy self this 2026 season 🙄🌊 — but what we COULD do is help others. And shelter babies? They're near and dear to these heart strings.

Here's the honest truth: Floatery got the fundraiser started, but with our hands full this season, we could only carry it so far. Then an angel named Tracey at [Triad Pet Cremation & Cemetery] stepped up and RAN with it 🏃‍♀️💨 — hauling our donation check across county lines to our friends at [All Pets Considered] in Guilford County.

And let's talk about All Pets Considered for a second 👏 — they took our generosity and DOUBLED it. Twice the food. Twice the treats. Twice the toys. That's a local pet store putting its money where its heart is, and the shelter babies are the winners.

Then Tracey loaded that truck and drove it all back to Rockingham County Animal Shelter-Reidsville, NC — every single item on their "needed" list. 🚚

We made good things happen. Tracey and All Pets Considered turned them into GREAT things. Gosh, we adore these people. 💙

And this event gave us one more unexpected gift: we met someone who can help with the moment every pet family dreads. When that day comes for Miss Karma Sue — hopefully many, many years from now — she'll get her goodbye with dignity, at peace, in her own home. A comfort we didn't know we needed. Karma Sue was adopted, now she's stocking shelves for her fellow puppers and kitties. 🐕👑 It takes a village — ours just happens to span two counties. We hope this helps in some small way… and we're already saying it: same time next year. 🗓️

⚠️ CLOSED TODAY — SATURDAY 9/5 ⚠️

DANG you Mother Nature! Today's storm cells are sitting right on the VA/NC line producing hail, very strong winds, and lightning — and the setup is right for it to actually hit us. Combined with our current long float times and low water our guests would not be able to make it off the water before it possibly hits. 🙏

We are over the 35% threshold, and the chances keep increasing. With cells like these — weather is always give or take an hour in our experience.⚡

We will be OPEN SUNDAY! 🌊

And hey — fingers crossed Mother Nature leaves us a little rain out of this. The Dan River is thirsty! 🌧️😄

Credits have been issued to all booked guests. See you Sunday! ❤️

And just like that — the 2026 season is wrapping up. Last Floatery Float Gauge, of course, needs to be Epic! 🌊❤️

We are closing out our season this Saturday 9/5 and 9/6, labor day closed in order to give our incredible staff the final day off — because if anyone earned it after one of the most unhinged seasons on record it is them. 🙏

Drought. Flood. Rocks. Unhinged Heat. Storms. 7 hour floats. Wildfire smoke. Slide Shutdown. And somehow yall kept showing up every single weekend. 💪

To every single one of you who floated with us, supported us, shared our posts, defended us, believed in us, and chose Floatery for your river memories this season — we adore you more than words can say. ❤️

Big things are coming for the 2027 season on the Dan River. Really big things. 🌊✨

With times currently running around 7 hours due to low water conditions. We completely understand that is a long day in the sun and we want to make sure you have the best possible experience however that looks for you!

Those who have already booked ot planning to book..... Here are your options:

⏰ Come Early — We open at 10:30am. Feel free to show up early and get on the water as soon as possible to make the most of your day! Txt us at 336-916-7070 with name and just say coming early.

🌊 Hang Out at the Bank — If a 7 hour float is not what you had in mind no worries at all! You are more than welcome to come connect with fellow floaters, hang out at our riverbank, enjoy the water at your own pace, and just soak in the Grogans Riverfront atmosphere. Simply show up and let us know you prefer to hang out — we will take great care of you!

We have to get creative with this incredible and unpredictable weather we have been having — and we want every single guest to leave here happy regardless of river conditions! 🙏

The river's calling it. 🛟

Saturday and Sunday are still floatable — but fair warning: the water's low, and some walking will be required. Wear river shoes, bring your sense of humor, and consider it a float with a little hike mixed in.

The Dan is SUPER low right now, and low water means a River Hike instead of a float — and y'all deserve better than that. So we're doing the hard, right thing: the 2026 season officially wraps Sunday, 9/6. No Labor Day floats. We'll use the day to reflect, regroup, and politely curse Mother Nature. 😄

We could squeeze one more day out of it. We'd rather send you home loving this river than limping off it. That's the Floatery way.

Thank you for sticking with us through the most interesting and challenging summer in Floatery history — every laugh, every "one more time." You're the reason.

Rest up, Dan River. We'll see you in the spring…

Can we talk about weather post-2020 for a second? 😂

The weatherman cannot predict it. The apps cannot predict it. Meteorologists with all their fancy radars and doppler technology and 15 years of education cannot predict it.

So when customers ask us “what does the weather look like?”

I don’t know Jessica. It looks a lot like THIS image at ZERO percent chance. 🤬

We monitor the weather more than most small businesses on the planet because we literally live by it — and even WE get surprised.

That is not a Floatery problem. That is a post-2020 weather problem. 🙏🌊

We share the forecast with the data provided. We post the Float Gauge. We send the emails. We make the calls.

After that — the decision to float is yours. And when a pop-up storm appears out of absolutely nowhere on a zero percent day — we need you to remember that we cannot control Mother Nature any more than the weatherman can.

Something important every floater should understand — the Dan River banks are privately owned on this 4 mile route. Once you are on the water you cannot simply exit mid-float during a storm. Your best option is to pull your tubes onto the nearest bank, move away from the water, and wait it out. NC pop-up storms are typically over in 10 minutes or less. The alternative is a search and rescue call — and that bill is on you, honestly by the time they get there the storm will be over.

When rocks appear in the river (not ours 🙃) and shut your slide down for the season… you don't quit. You order a truckload of Plan B. 🚛🧡 Was there cursing? YES and a lot of it. Stay tuned — we've got you. Customers first, mental breakdown scheduled for October. 😅
