The Bombay Bicycle Club of Madison presents Bombay's Challenge Event Training Series (BCETS): a program of training rides designed to help participants prepare for challenging cycling events such as the Horribly Hilly Hundreds (HHH), Dairyland Dare, Ironman Wisconsin, Wright Stuff Century, or other hilly endurance rides. Avid cyclists who want to increase their fitness and hill climbing skills wil
l also benefit from this program, regardless of whether or not you participate in the HHH or other challenge rides. Most of the training rides will take place on portions of the HHH course (along the beautiful hilly roads west of Madison). Outdoor training rides will take place every Saturday morning beginning the first weekend March (weather permitting) until the week before the HHH (mid-June). Ride lengths and the amount of climbing increase as the program progresses through the season. Participants are strongly encouraged to ride indoors prior to the start of the outdoor training rides in March, and/or be in good shape by participating in other winter sports activities. An orientation seminar will be held in February (prior to the start of the season), which will include additional information such as ride schedules, cycling tips, and training advice.
