Been MIA for a bit on here and busier than ever, but figured I'd get more pics rockin and a cool lil announcement :) Still feels surreal that this bait was featured on the cover of Musky Hunter magazine last year, in the insane painting by Craig Fairbert Wildlife Art. Now it's refueling the flame with Craig's awesome piece "Madtown" being featured on the musky shirt this year for Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co. . Pretty big understatement to say I'm pumped about that Haha.

Can't wait to see everyone in Wausau who can make it out today :) Definitely look like a zombie, but I'm not missin another day. Thank you guys so much for the messages yesterday, just know that if you sent one, I'll be getting back to everyone I can throughout the day and weekend. It is so humbling to see how many people made it out yesterday planning on getting madtowns.

In fairness to all of you for your support and crazy effort in coming to the show yesterday, I have a batch set aside I will be making specifically available to you all. I brought some killer baits to the show today, for anyone who makes it out, but set aside some for the diehards who went through a ton to get here yesterday. I appreciate the heck out of it!!

its incredibly important to me to keep my customers happy and I promise, I wont stop til everyone who came out yesterday is taken care of :) might be a tiny bit so I can let my body catch up haha, but I'll be getting in touch with all of you :)

Another from the show baits :) Will have these with me tomorrow in Wausau :) These might be one of my new favorite patterns I've done. Colorshift scales and details over a subtle chrome body to enhance the flash. Gonna get chowed in the water!! Painfully real looking in natural light.

HEADS UP: I feel terrible about this, but due to some personal health reasons, I will not be able to get to Wausau until SATURDAY. Back at home now and doing alright, but I can not seem to catch a break :/ I hate that I wont be able to get there today and I'm SO sorry to anyone that was planning on today, but in the end, health and safety has to come first and unfortunately there's no way around that.

TO ANYONE THERE TODAY: Join the group The Mad Man Social and post a pic of your ticket/handstamp/the venue on the main post in there, and I will be giving away some free baits in there for the trouble, and do a drawing of everyone who posts.

Again guys, I'm SO sorry about not being able to make it today, but as dumb as I am sometimes, I have to be smart and prioritize my health on this one. The good news is, it means a few extra baits will be cured and dry by tomorrow so I'll have more with me than if I would have :) Thanks guys!

These next few posts might be some of my favorite baits I've ever made. I'm trying to bring a good amount of baits, relatively speaking, but still will have limited numbers from what I wish I could have for you guys. I build each one of these thangs by hand myself, from start to finish, and the amount of hours into each one is... many. Haha. But it's all worth it thanks to you guys and your support and thwackin big fish on em :)

One of the patterns I get requested the most is a pumpkinseed pattern. I made sure I went all out on pumpkinseeds for the Wisconsin Musky Expo this coming weekend and will hopefully have a good amount with me. I have been working every waking second to try to get as much done as possible
in general for the show and will have as many baits with me as my hands can build haha. Gonna save the craziest baits til Thursday to share ;)

I really hope you all can make it out. Its gonna be an awesome show, and it's always amazing getting to talk baits and fishing with you all!

Trying to build and water test one more batch of XLs before the Wausau expo in a week 👌 I'll be even more nonexistent on earth than usual but I'm gonna do everything possible to get these last 2 new colors done in time. Been working like an actual mad man to prep for this show, and I'm hoping to have more baits in Wausau than I've ever had at a show.
Every bait is individually balanced, water tested and tweaked, at each major phase of the process to ensure maximum fishcatchery once they hit your hands 👍

Starting tomorrow, I'll begin posting colors I'll have at the show. hoping ya guys love the new stuff and can't wait to meet some new folks, and see a bunch of you maniacs again ;) Gonna have my coolest stuff yet with me this year 🤘 (to anyone waiting on donated baits from recently, or expecting a package, they're on their way, and will get to ya this week! :) I hugely apologize for the sporadic communication, but these shows are a monster to prep for as a one man, 1 year old havin' operation 😂)

Up for air for a second here to make an official announcement. With the time it takes to make the best baits I possibly can, and operating costs running a one man thang, doing shows is tough enough as is, much less with a fresh human in the mix. Because of that, it wasn't looking like any shows were going to work this year, until a great opportunity popped up to split a bigger booth with one of my favorite dudes with Musky Magnet Lures. Thanks to this, I will have as many baits as I can make at one show only this year, which is the Wisconsin Musky Expo in Wausau This March, and couldnt be more pumped.

After seeing how many people have been after Madtown stuff for quite a while now, it makes me super happy knowing I'll be able to get a massive pile out there all at once in the coolest colors I've done yet. I've always struggled with how to price the baits, because each one has more hours in it than I like to admit, but I want them to be attainable to people. Because of that, I always err on the side of ripping myself off supremely on the "per hour" side of things, because that's not how bait prices should be calculated anyways. (especially when I do this as a hobby, albeit a large one). But now being able to see what the value of the baits from years ago have been getting sold for as an idea, I'll be raising my prices to $150 for the new minis 🙃

Hopefully you're still reading, haha, but I'm completely kidding, and figured half that sounds better. Obviously a ton of time goes into the baits, especially with one fella, but I dont ever want to let that be a driving force behind unaffordable baits. Rationality is still an important component of pricing. I will be keeping my pricing the same as it is now, with a few special patterns for a little more, and a few show specials for a bit less :) ($75 for the Minis and the mondo XLs for $150 as the baseline)

The 2019 baits are truly better than anything I've crafted ever before. Many layers of the best looking epoxy, insane eyes like these from Dead Meat Customs on this pumpkinseed, and effortless action. Combined with new paint colors, new patterns and a new bait comin too ;)

Hey guys! Gonna be on Musky Talk tonight on the Musky Magnet Lures page, and figured we could do somethin fun. First, I'll be trying to mass answer a bunch of questions I've been gettin about shows, how to buy baits for the upcoming year, new baits, etc :) Thenn, I finally got around to gettin everything set for the second free bait I wanted to give away as a big thank you to you guys from everyone who shared pictures :) Your support, appreciation, awesome words, (and patience 😜 ) all mean the world to me. I wanna do this whenever I get a chance randomly throughout the year to give a few freebies away to continue to actually show how much I mean that, and put my.. baits, where my mouth is? haha.

So heres a sneak peak of the bait I'll be giving away tonight, on Musky Talk, starting at 7pm CST! Should be a fun time chattin with that ugly Colin guy over there about some cool stuff. (Id love if whoever wins this one at least keeps it for 1 full day without getting sold though 😜)

Well unfortunately the ol' compressor decided to die right before bait prep for show season batches, So it looks like I will be making a few baits available early to help pay for new supplies 😂😖 I will be posting a really special one later today on the "Mad man social" page, this metal leaf, gold perch XL, which might be my new favorite XL pattern. I have a video of the action of the XL's on the page worth checking out , but these things are weapons!

I'm still hoping to have a small batch of regular priced baits available before the shows as well :)
