Good evening,
If you are receiving this email, your child is registered for Flag Football this season—welcome! We’ve had an amazing turnout:
1st & 2nd Grade Division: 51 players
3rd & 4th Grade Division: 52 players
These are fantastic numbers, but to make the season successful, we need more volunteer coaches.
Current Volunteers:
1st & 2nd Grade
Head Coaches – 2
Assistant Coaches – 2
3rd & 4th Grade
Head Coaches – 3
Assistant Coaches – 4
Team Manager – 1
Our Goal:
Ideally, we’d have 8 teams in each division with 6–7 kids per team. This allows us to play 5-on-5 with minimal time on the sidelines.
If you did not sign up as a coach during registration but are willing to help, please reply to this email. Coaching flag football is simple—there are plenty of online playbooks for offense, and defense is all about hustle and attitude. Our focus is not on winning, but on teaching the fundamentals of football (catching, throwing, running, pulling flags) and being great teammates. With that being said we do compete to win games and we do have an end of season tournament to put a bow on our season.
If you can spare one hour, two nights a week, please consider volunteering—it makes a big difference for the kids.
First Week Practice Schedule
All practices at 6:30 PM, practices will last 60-75 minutes.
Monday, August 18 – First practice (Coach’s meeting at 6:00 PM)
Tuesday, August 19 – Off (Downtown Madtown)
Wednesday, August 20 – Practice
Thursday, August 21 – Practice
