What a way to close out the weekend, and for many of our teams, the season.
Across the state and region, our boys competed with toughness, heart, and the kind of togetherness that defines this organization. The Standard was on full display. We’re incredibly proud of the way our players, coaches, and families represented the MS Yankees at the 2D Sports Youth Baseball Invite Championship and Grand Slam Mississippi State tourney.
From championship runs to hard-fought finalist finishes, this weekend was another reminder of the work, growth, and commitment shown across every age group all season long.
🥈MS Yankees 7U Silver (AA) - Finalist Grand Slam State Tournament
After starting the fall in A baseball and getting bumped to AA early Spring, this group kept rising to the challenge and finished the season in the finals of an AA tourney. They battled all the way to a 7-6 1 run loss championship game and close out the year with a strong 27-19 record.
🏆MS Yankees 9U Silver (Major) - Champs Grand Slam State Tournament
After being promoted to the Major division, this team never backed down from the competition. They continued to compete at a high level all season, taking on high level national events along the way and finishing the Fall/Spring season at 35-17 with a championship to show for it.
🥈MS Yankees 10U NAVY (AAA) - Finalist Grand Slam State Tournament
This group put together an impressive 5-1 weekend run before falling 2-1 in the championship. They wrap up the season at 26-13 after dominating the metro AAA teams in the state and showing the hard work and dedication that defined their year.
🥈MS Yankees 10U Silver (Major) - Finalist 2D The Open Major Championship
This talented nationally and regionally ranked group of boys capped off their season with a 34-17 record which includes high level national events. What made them special all year was their balance, dominant pitching, plus power throughout the lineup, and several players capable of changing a game with one swing.
🏆MS Yankees 11U Navy (AAA) - Champs Grand Slam State Tournament (12AA)
Consistency set this group apart all season. They finished with an astounding 31-4-1 season record with Grandslam and 41-18-1 overall, including high level national events, while continuing to prove themselves against older competition with a 16-1 mark in the 12AA division within GS. Their identity showed up on both sides of the ball averaging 9.11 runs scored while allowing just 3.08 in Grandslam events and that complete brand of baseball led them to another championship finish.
🏆MS Yankees 11U Silver (Major) - Champs 2D The Open Major Championship
This talented nationally and regionally ranked group of boys once again showed why they’ve been recognized since their inception. They finish the season 34-17, including high level national events, with an outstanding 20-4 in 2D events and 11-2 in Select Series tourneys. As their game has grown, so have their goals, and after spending much of the season traveling to face heavy competition in national events, they continued to showcase elite baseball growth and development that led to another championship moment.
A huge congratulations to all of our players and coaches for an outstanding weekend and an incredible season. We’re proud of what each team accomplished, and even more proud of the way they competed for each other every step of the way.
