Can you tell #6 is my favorite?

Here are 6 things that people are scared of that I’ll never give up👏🏼

Someone comment how many times I said “bro” & “freaking”😂

But in all seriousness. Do what works for YOU. Do what makes YOU happy!

A little BCI girls night at Stovehouse ❤️

One of the best parts about BCI is getting together outside of the gym. Good food, lots of laughs, and even better company!

Can’t wait to do it again next month + an added celebration of 25 years of BCI🥳🪩🕺🏼

I had to do a lot of convincing yesterday.

Convincing myself to stick to my routine.
To rock what I set out to do every Tuesday.
To train when I simply didn’t want to.
To eat when all I wanted to do was lay down.
To not skip my cycling even though I was 15 minutes behind my normal routine.
To listen to podcasts rather than music.
To read when I just wanted to scroll on TikTok.

It was a convincing kind of day… and although those days are more challenging mentally & physically, they usually end up being the days that make me the most proud.

Yesterday reminded me that my goals & routines are challenging… and I wouldn’t change it.

Yesterday reminded me why I do what I do day in and day out.

Yesterday reminded me why these days matter to my physique, but more importantly, my brain.

Yesterday reminded me that this is the life I chose.

Yesterday reminded me that I practice what I preach at a high level.

Yesterday reminded me that I’m grateful to live the life I live.

If you’ve felt like you’ve had to do a LOT of convincing lately… you’re probably in a season of growth.

And honestly? That’s normal.

Not every day feels exciting, motivating or easy. Some days take effort just to stay aligned with the person you said you wanted to become.

& that’s just life.

Grateful, always💪🏼🇺🇸

Your mindset starts young… but it’s not stuck there forever.

The way you think, react, cope, speak to yourself, and view the world is often shaped by experiences you had years ago.

I’m lucky to have grown up in a house full of support & overwhelming love. I was taught from a young age by my parents, siblings & coaches that if I wanted something, I had to work hard as heck for it. No handouts. Showing up & giving my best was the expectation.

There wasn’t pressure to be perfect.
There was pressure to do my best.

There also wasn’t such thing as being a bad sport or constantly talking down on yourself. Accountability, effort, resilience & respect were just normal.

Looking back now, I realize how much that shaped me.

But here’s the important part:
even if you didn’t grow up with that environment… your mindset is still able to shift.

Some things I think help:
Become aware of where you’re at now, where you want to be, who you are at your core & WHY you want to become better.

Write down your self-limiting beliefs.
Challenge them.
Ask yourself why they exist.
Ask yourself who you want to become instead.

Become someone who trusts themselves instead of doubts themselves.
Someone who takes action instead of constantly waiting.
Someone who grows instead of staying stuck.

And of course… I can’t forget about reading.

Reading books that resonate with me & align with who I want to become has helped me an absurd amount. I truly believe the people who raised me, who I surround myself with, my experiences, challenges, what I listen to AND what I read has shaped me… and will forever shape me into the person I am becoming.

Shift into the person you want to be.
They’re waiting for you to tap into them.

Once again, wrote this for myself… but figured it may add value to the person reading it too ❤️👊🏼

To grow you need resistance.

In order to develop mentally & physically, you have to challenge yourself. Resistance is the key to growth. It may not be comfortable, but that’s the point.

Physically, this could look like:
• Adding more weight to the bar.
• Committing to another day of strength training.
• Going to bed earlier than you want to.
• Ordering the diet soda instead of the full meal to stay on track.
• Walking outside in this Alabama heat.

Mentally, this could look like:
• Becoming more aware and honest about how you’re showing up.
• Reading & listening to things that help you grow.
• Challenging your own beliefs.
• Staying curious instead of closed off.
• Surrounding yourself with people who push you in a good way.

This life is grand. The world is full of opportunity, growth, people, experiences & purpose.

But growth requires resistance.

Don’t fight it and make it harder on yourself.

Lean into it.

Wrote this for me… but maybe you needed it too.

Happy Monday🫶🏼
