Your mindset starts young… but it’s not stuck there forever.
The way you think, react, cope, speak to yourself, and view the world is often shaped by experiences you had years ago.
I’m lucky to have grown up in a house full of support & overwhelming love. I was taught from a young age by my parents, siblings & coaches that if I wanted something, I had to work hard as heck for it. No handouts. Showing up & giving my best was the expectation.
There wasn’t pressure to be perfect.
There was pressure to do my best.
There also wasn’t such thing as being a bad sport or constantly talking down on yourself. Accountability, effort, resilience & respect were just normal.
Looking back now, I realize how much that shaped me.
But here’s the important part:
even if you didn’t grow up with that environment… your mindset is still able to shift.
Some things I think help:
Become aware of where you’re at now, where you want to be, who you are at your core & WHY you want to become better.
Write down your self-limiting beliefs.
Challenge them.
Ask yourself why they exist.
Ask yourself who you want to become instead.
Become someone who trusts themselves instead of doubts themselves.
Someone who takes action instead of constantly waiting.
Someone who grows instead of staying stuck.
And of course… I can’t forget about reading.
Reading books that resonate with me & align with who I want to become has helped me an absurd amount. I truly believe the people who raised me, who I surround myself with, my experiences, challenges, what I listen to AND what I read has shaped me… and will forever shape me into the person I am becoming.
Shift into the person you want to be.
They’re waiting for you to tap into them.
Once again, wrote this for myself… but figured it may add value to the person reading it too ❤️👊🏼
