I really be minding my own business and this kid always comes and finds me 🤦🏽‍♂️🏀

I’ve been training Zach since he was about 11 years old. He’s 14 now and somehow already just a little shorter than me at 6’5 🤷🏽

Great kid, great parents, and it’s been crazy watching him grow over the years. Can’t wait to see him in action this season.

Told him tonight I was raised on: don’t miss two in a row. Miss one? Cool. Lock in and make the next one.

First and foremost, I would like to thank God for allowing me and Coach Lamar to be a part of these kids lives.

I’ve received text message notices of family members passing and situations at school from some of our players. It means so much to me that we mean so much to them.

Never underestimate what you can do because it doesn’t look like what others are doing. Your difference will be different.

Scoring was cool. Dunking was fun. Even a chase-down block could get me going… but nothing ever felt better than dropping a pass somebody didn’t see coming. 🏀 it was natural to me.

Now I just gotta teach my players one thing: even when I’m not looking at you, look for the ball. 😆 👀🎯

Great session! 🏀

Worked on ball handling, changing the direction of the offense, getting out on the fast break and finishing layups at full speed. We also focused on passing and diving to the goal, attacking the defense, scoring the basketball and RUNNING the floor!

Just trying to get a little better every time we step in the gym.

As always, we give God all the glory for the opportunity to teach, learn and play this game. 🙏🏾🏀

Basketball may be what brings us together, but it will never be the most important thing we give them.

At TR basketball , these young lives are covered in prayer at least four times a week. We understand that kids carry things from life that we may never see or fully understand.

So we coach. We teach. We listen. We pray and plant seeds, that will grow overtime.

One day, they’ll play their last game.

Our prayer is that what was planted in them lasts far beyond it.

We plant. God gives the growth. 🌱🙏🏾
