Congratulations to all participants in the second of four Beach Body Challenges we will have this year. The results through the years have been phenomenal, and this round was no different.

We had the first ever tie for 1st place, going to Savannah Davis and Cecelia Virden, both from our Madison location, and 3rd Place going to Rhett Albright from Gluckstadt. Congrats to each of you!

The top 15 had staggering results, averaging 11 pounds of fat loss while increasing muscle by nearly 5 pounds.

We saw an average of 80+ people lose 5 pounds of body fat and not lose muscle. Congrats to each and every person who finished the 6-week challenge.

The next round of the Beach Body Challenge will be online in July, followed by an in person challenge starting in October.

Congrats Trey! After making tremendous progress in his first three months of joining the gym, Trey was able to make even more progress in the next 6! This is a great example of the value of focusing on habits more than results, and that creates long-term change! 10 months of hard work, way to go!

Three weeks is a great trial run for identifying the number of calories you need to preserve lean muscle, but also to achieve the change you are seeking.

If you consistently hit your calorie goal AND those calories also hit your goal carb, fat, protein number you will see results. This is most important in the initial weeks of setting a body composition goal. However, keep in mind the sooner you incorporate high quality fruits, vegetables, nuts/seeds and lean meats you will FEEL better while also achieving your goal.

When you start to count your calories, specifically your macronutrients (protein, carbs, fats) it can be alarming to realize how little you eat on some weekdays. This doesn’t mean you are undereating. If you look at a 7 day total, you will see your calories average out to be higher than you may think.

For many beginners, tracking food will require going out of your way to eat more on certain days, and then making sure those meals out to eat on the weekend stay within your goals.

The good news, eating more on those days when you don’t typically eat enough will help your body not feel the need to binge eat on the weekends. So in this case, eating more will help you eat less overall!

Member Spotlight!

John Mayo has been a member at our Oxford location for a couple years and struggled most with consistency in the gym and with nutrition when life got busy! He started Coyote Nutrition Coaching back in September with the goal of maintaining his consistency throughout the holidays, vacations, and staying on track once the new year got here. He's made significant progress in the last 6 months by losing over 15 pounds of body fat and gaining almost 10 pounds of muscle! Keep up the hard work, John!

Repost from

It's amazing what can happen in 6-weeks! We want to congratulate Ryan on his progress over the last month and a half. Way to go.

After joining the gym in October, and getting into the routine of working out consistently, Ryan decided to adjust his eating habits to reach a goal. As you can see from his first and second InBody scan, the gym alone didn't move the needle in the way of body composition from October to December, but it was when he decided to make a change to his eating habits that he began to see drastic results. Amazing job Ryan! Keep it up!
