The Madison Firecracker 10K and RACE DAY is quickly approaching. Below are important notes for you to help make your race day smooth:
Start time: 8:00 a.m.
Race day packet pickup/registration is from 6:45-7:30a.m.
Early Packet Pickup: We encourage you to pick up your packet on Friday, July 3, at Crawley Heating and Cooling, located at 3464 N. Shun Pike Rd. Madison, IN 47250 between 11 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
You may also bring your friend who still needs to register. They may sign up during early packet pickup. This will help your race morning go smoothly! We encourage early packet pick up to avoid getting caught in the congestion on race morning.
If you choose not to participate in the 10k race for any reason, and have picked up your packet, the timing chip must be returned to us. A fee will be charged for any un-returned timing chip.
You also have the opportunity at early packet pickup and race day packet pickup to purchase extra shirts and vintage swag for $10.00. Extra shirts will be available first come, first serve.
On race day, look for volunteers in neon shirts to assist you. They are here to help make your day fantastic and stress-free. Be sure to thank a volunteer! We could not do this without them!
Race day weather prediction could likely be a steamy hot one! There will be four water stops along the course. Please note that if there are thunderstorms race morning, there could be a delay in the start.
The start line is located in the back parking lot of Madison Consolidated High School finishing downtown at Gaines Park. The Madison Trolley’s will be running approximately every 30 minutes following the awards ceremony to get you safely back to the high school.
Awards will begin promptly at 9:30a.m. in the finish line area. The top 3 overall runners and walkers will receive awards as well as the top 3 runners in each age group. We also have finisher medals for everyone completing the race again this year!
Race merchandise will also be available for sale at the finish line to racers and spectators so make sure to have extra cash on hand. Steel and Steam Coffee Truck will also be at the finish line for anyone wanting extra post race nutrition! They will have coffee, protein smoothies and more!!
There will be plenty of parking available at the high school race morning, but keep in mind when arriving, that the Wilson Avenue entrance to the school will be closed. You will need to use the entrance on Clifty Drive or the Northeast entrance off of Inglis Street via Cragmont Street.
Please direct any and all questions you may have to our Madison Firecracker 10K page.
Thank you for celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with us! A BIG thank you to all the veterans who have kept us free! We have a special gift for all our veterans who are participating in the 10K. We are looking forward to a great race!
