Just wanted to update my post from last Saturday about the trail being cancelled & I stated in that post it was several things that took place as the final decision to close it down.
And as I have been in talks with a few people about taking over Alabama Crappie trail and after talking with those different individuals it is determined that the trail will close as originally posted.
I don’t think everyone understood the time you have to be involved with making the trail a success. After I explained the process and I wasn’t in this to make a profit but all for the fisherman and to promote Alabama Crappie Tournament Fishing in general.
I always gave more back at the tournaments with financial & prize winnings than the entry fees that were brought in because of outside sponsors.

So the week of January 17th, I will be contacting any angler who paid all their entry fees in advance and setting up a refund for entries less the Neely Henry Tournament that took place in November 2024. I will have a document for you to sign stating that you received you entry fees back.
Also sponsors I will be in contact with you personally about how to handle the remaining sponsorship money or products from you guys as well

I want to thank everyone involved that made this a great experience for all of us since October 2022.
I love each and everyone of you guys & gals and hopefully see some of you around in the future.

A PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT FOR EVERYONE ASSOCIATED WITH ALABAMA CRAPPIE TRAIL!!!
ALL ANGLER TEAMS & SPONSORS PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST TO THE END FOR ALL DETAILS.

This decision today December 28,2024 comes with a HEAVY HEART & SADNESS.
I have met a whole new family over the last 2 years and gained some great new friends thru Alabama Crappie Trail.

But sometimes Life throws us curve ball after curve ball & in the last 3 weeks or so it is so many unforeseen & uncontrollable circumstances that have occurred that it make things difficult.

So now the hard part is as follows:

My decision today is to cancel all future Alabama Crappie Trail 2024-2025 Tournaments.
I do apologize for any inconvenience on anyone's part, but sometimes life decisions are tough to make & this definitely was a tough decision.

Please note that during the month of January 2025, all anglers that have paid for the entire year in advance will receive a refund for your entry fees (minus) the Neely Henry Fees of $175 for Division I or $125 for Division II.
I will be contacting you directly & make arrangements to probably meet you in person with a refund.

A note to all sponsors that during January 2025, I will reach out to you personally also about refunds financially & also products.
Some product has been given away at Neely Henry & some funds dispersed as well.

I will still promote all of the great sponsors on Alabama Crappie Trail page that has made this a successful 2 years. I apologize to you all as well but as I said to the Anglers, Life decisions are rough & tough sometimes & this was one of the toughest decision that I've had to make in a long time.

All I ask is to leave all the negative comments off of page as we all have enjoyed a GREAT 2 YEAR RUN!!!

I don't want to mess that up now & I still Love each & everyone of you all as a family (actually like a new brother & sister to me) and hope to see you in the future.

This decision did not involve anyone except (me) Keith Cole to cancel all events & the rest of the crew that help me with the trail was informed last night about what was happening today.

I will entertain any calls or texts (256) 476-7555 as I have always in the past just as a friend & shoot the bull, or just to answer any questions of concern.
But I will not disclose the reasons & circumstances that led to this decision last night & today.
Sometimes the universe just doesn't cooperate

We have arrived this morning at Neely Henry Lake @ Southside Landing in Southside, Alabama for the 2024-2025 Alabama Crappie Trail Tournament season kickoff & we are looking at the 40 team mark in this Tournament, competing for the 1st place $2500 check (division 1) & a $1000 1st place check (division 2).
We could reach a historical number for the state of Alabama Crappie Tournament Fishing.
