HOGG, HUMPHRIES, HOLDEN AND MULLINS WIN IN THE TWINS
Madera, Ca. (5-31-26) – May 30th was the night of the twins at the Madera Speedway with all twins getting in for free. Once in the grandstands fans thought they were seeing double as the NCMA Sprints Cars and the Pro Sportsman Series each ran twin 25 lap main events.
The condensed lap count in each of the four 25 laps main events created some serious intensity as there was no holding back from the drop of the green flag to the checkered flag.
In the first main event for the NCMA Sprint Cars Shauna Hogg was hooked up and flying as soon as the green flag dropped and she was trying to outrun the heard of charging drivers running second to fifth.
Justin Kawahata, Austin Carter, Tony Hunt and Eric Humphries thrilled the crowd with an intense battle for second while Hogg was sneaking away. It was Hunt that finally emerged in control of second place after battling with a trio of cars for much of the race. It looked as though the race was setting up for a fight for the win as Hunt was closing in on Hogg when Hunt’s car went up in smoke sending him to the pits.
Shauna Hogg won the 1st Sprint Car main event with Austin Carter in second, Eric Humphries was third, Justin Kawahata fourth, and Tony Amador came home in fifth.
In the first Pro Sportsman main event the action was fierce from the drop of the green flag with cars side by side battling for position from the lead to the rear of the field. Joseph Reichmuth emerged as the leader and was fighting hard to keep the charging pack behind him when the 28 car of Brennen Mankin made contact with the leader entering turn one resulting in the big wreck of the night.
The 316 car of Kenny White was the last one to the multi car pile-up, but he received the most damage after he hit the wall and the right side of Jason Kearns number 5 race car at the same time. White was unable to continue and was done for the night while all other competitors were able to return to action.
That wreck flipped the field on the restart, and it was Tyler Holden that ceased control of the race but he had Aaron “Moonshine” Mullins hot on is tail for the remainder of the race. When the checkers went high into the air Tyler Holden took the win with Mullins right behind for second. Joseph Holiday came home in third followed by birthday boy Howard Holden and Steve Schermerhorn to round out the top five.
The NCMA Sprints returned for their 2nd 25 lap main event, and they picked up the intensity right where they left off in the first leg of the night. But this time it was Eric “Hotrod” Humphries that jumped out to the lead and he flat drove away from the pack while the battle for second place raged between Hogg, Kawahata and Carter.
When the smoke cleared and three cars were sitting in victory lane it was Humphries with the win, Carter in second and Hogg rounding out the top three podium.
The second main event in the Pro Sportsman series featured some great racing action with Brennen Mankin and Aaron Mullins battling for the lead. Mullins was able to work his way past Mankin for the lead after many laps of battling and then Mankin spent the remainder of the race holding off 2025 champion Joseph Holiday.
Holiday was able to work his way past the competitive Mankin just in time for the end of the race and when the checkered flag flew it was Mullins taking the win followed by Holiday, Mankin, Joseph Reichmuth and Steve Schermerhorn for the top five.
