FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Madera, California — The Good Times Quarter Midget Racing Association (GTQMRA) announces that it will retire from hosting the Silver State Winter Nationals, an event the club has proudly run since 1993. Good Times assumed the event from Pomona Valley QMRA—later Orange Show and now SoCal QMA—and has worked tirelessly for more than three decades to help the race flourish into one of the most anticipated quarter midget events in the country.

For over 30 years, countless Good Times members dedicated themselves to building a race that could stand alongside the very best nationwide. Their commitment paid off. Each year, more than 300 cars entered “the funnest race of the year,” drawing families from across the United States and British Columbia. Drivers came with hopes of capturing the iconic slot-machine trophy and taking part in what has become a true quarter midget racing tradition.

Good Times is deeply grateful for the unwavering support received throughout the decades—especially from racers and families who have been with the event since its early years. The support shown to GTQMRA while hosting the race in Las Vegas helped keep the home track open for many more families in Central California.

This decision to step back was not made lightly. It weighs heavily on the hearts of the remaining Good Times families who have stewarded the event with passion and pride.

It is now our honor to announce that the Silver State Winter Nationals will return to the stewardship of SoCal QMA. We hope the same enthusiasm and support shown to Good Times will be extended to SoCal QMA as they take the helm. Good Times will assist SoCal through the transition in 2026 to ensure that the tradition continues for many years to come.

We are truly grateful to have played a part in the legacy and success of this extraordinary event. Thank you—from the bottom of our hearts—to every family, racer, and supporter who made the Silver State Winter Nationals what it is today.
