FST - Macon

FST - Macon FST is a Year-Round Competitive Swim Team. FST Macon was formerly known as Swim Macon (Founded in 1981 by Dr. Lee Stockslager) and merged with WRA in 2024.

We are affiliated with USA Swimming, which is the amateur arm of the U.S. Olympic swim team. Our organization is dedicated to the development of the competitive swimmer of all ages and abilities. Our program utilizes a positive self-image psychology approach to educating and training our students. It is our belief that success is a by-product of a positive environment and a positive self-image. Th

e program is geared to help each athlete realize his/her potential by supporting their efforts in a positive manner; both in and beyond the confines of the
pool. Swim Macon strives to instill an understanding of, and appreciation for, such concepts as high self-esteem, personal
accountability, self-discipline, goal setting and goal achievement. We know that not every swimmer will be an Olympian, but they can all learn, internalize and live the Olympic Ideals of vision, focus, persistence, commitment and discipline. These principles, more than any gold medal or national record, will help each child as they grow and enter the realms of higher education and society in general. We strongly feel that if you help nurture the child, you will help develop (or even unleash) the champion within as well. Swim Macon is divided into groups starting with the beginner swimmers progressing to the advanced training groups. Swimmers are moved up based on ability and dedication. Once all the skills are learned in each group then the swimmer may move to the next group with both coaches agreement. Trial periods are set so that the swimmers aren’t shocked when they move up (i.e. 1 day a week first, then 2 days a week). The higher levels from Gold and above, swimmers are advanced based on their dedication to the program. Swim Lessons

For Children ages 3-10, group or private lessons. We also offer private lessons for children 11 & up and adults. Pre-Competitive

For children ages 3-10. Swimmers must be able to swim at least 5 feet without assistance. There are 4 Levels that teach swimmers all the basic strokes with turns and dives. Competitive

For swimmers that have completed the Pre-Competitive requirements and are ready for competition. Advanced swimming skills are taught. Masters

For swimmers 19 & up who are interested in continuing competion or just for fitness.

Great tips to stay safe during summer fun! 😎

Pool days are some of the best days of summer, but safety always comes first. ☀️

The Perry Fire Department encourages families to practice safe swimming habits by using layers of protection, including active adult supervision, swimming lessons, safety barriers, and emergency preparedness. Children can get into trouble in the water quickly and often silently, making close supervision the most important pool safety measure.

And that's a wrap on Session 1 of our summer group lessons! BIG shout out to our awesome instructors who taught 138 students in this session 🙌

That means 138 swimmers in Middle Georgia learned new skills that will keep them safer in the water. And 11 of our students graduated from swim school and were invited to join our pre-competitive team, the Aquanauts!!! 🥳
