We hope you had as much fun of a Halloween season as the WIU SCUBA students! Master Diver students tested their buoyancy and creativity by carving pumpkins underwater and Open Water students have been completing checkout dives ahead of the temperatures falling. Happy fall to all! 🍁🐈‍⬛🎃

Welcome back students! We had a great turn out at our booth during the org fair and KIN 108 and 308 are hitting the ground running this semester. 108 students got to spend some quality time with their equipment and 308 students will be in the pool refreshing their skills tomorrow! Who's excited for open water weekend?! Our KIN 108 and 208 classes spent the week learning final skills and taking written tests (SCUBA style of course) in preparation for their upcoming certification dives in the lake. Stay tuned for updates and some awesome underwater lake pictures!

KIN 108 is the first course at WIU to take to start your SCUBA journey! 108 covers all content of NAUI's Open Water Diver course. In SCUBA, divers use their fins for locomotion, not their hands. Divers also dive in a horizontal diving position with neutral buoyancy. Students in 108 are currently honing their finning, body position, and buoyancy skills so they are ready to complete check-out dives in April!
