As the premier martial arts school in southeast Michigan, we are proud to be a member of the Zen Bei Butoku Kai, one of the largest and oldest martial arts organizations in the country. While this is our primary focus, we also blend in curriculum from other styles of martial arts, such as aikido, jujitsu and arnis. Our instructors hold black belts in multiple martial arts. Sensei John Wasilina has

been a practitioner of the martial arts for 25 years, and as a 6th degree black belt, is the highest ranking member of our organization in the state.

Word of the Week: Self-Defense

Self-defense is about knowing how to protect yourself, staying aware of your surroundings, and having the confidence to respond when faced with a dangerous situation. In karate, we learn more than just techniques. We develop awareness, discipline, control, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. True self-defense is about protecting yourself and others while using good judgment and knowing when it is best to walk away.

2026 FAMILY PICNIC!!

We had such an amazing day at our Annual Family Picnic! We had so much fun spending time together as a karate family, enjoying delicious food, and making great memories. From an exciting water balloon fight to a competitive game of tug of war, there was something for everyone to enjoy! We also had our Best Picnic Dish Contest, with everyone bringing delicious savory and sweet dishes to compete for the best dish. Which was judged by taste, presentation, and difficulty!!
