I have authorized all flags at the Baker County Administration building and all Fire & Rescue stations to be flown at half-staff in memory of Mr. Leonard Davis. Mr. Davis served as County Fire Coordinator from September 1981- January 1985 when he became Baker County's first Fire Chief. He left the position April 1994. He passed away Saturday after a brief illness. The flags will remain at half-staff until Wednesday at sunset. We all owe Mr. Davis a debt of gratitude for his selfless service to his county.

Leonard Davis UPDATE: (from James Croft) Leonard's condition is serious! Prayers are needed for him and the family! Thank you very much! Remember God is still on the throne and in complete control!!

LEONARD DAVIS UPDATE (from James Croft): I left the hospital at 6:30 p.m. and Leonard is in ICU. I was able to visit with him for a few minutes and have prayer before I left. The nurse says he is resting comfortably. The doctor is optimistic about his prognosis but additional scans will be run. Lab reports should be in next week with the results of the pathology. Please continue to pray for Leonard, the family, and the medical staff. May the Lord be glorified through all of these things!

Leonard Davis is undergoing brain surgery today in Jacksonville, FL. This problem was just discovered on Tuesday, so it has been a major shock to our family! Please pray for him, our family & everyone involved in the surgery & recovery!! We thank you all!!!

In case you didn't know, Leonard also serves on the Board of Trustees for Florida Gateway College in Lake City, FL. This photo was taken during one of their meetings.
