Happy Birthday from all of us at Baker CrossFit, Dylan!

Even if you leave your early morning workout partner hanging some mornings 😂 when you do show up, you always bring the push and energy that makes everyone better.

Glad you got your birthday workout (and birthday burpees) in this morning. Hope you have an awesome day!

Daily reminder: show up for you.

One of the hardest parts about stepping into the role of gym owner instead of just athlete and coach has been self-discipline.

I’m here every day. Up at 4am. Building classes, answering messages, cleaning, organizing, and doing everything I can for this community because Baker CrossFit means everything to me.

But somewhere along the way, my own fitness started taking a back seat.

Most people assume gym owners are always motivated. Truth is, some of the hardest workouts are the ones done alone in silence after everyone else has gone home.

No class energy.
No training partner.
No one pushing the pace but you.

That’s been the lesson for me lately:
discipline matters most on the days motivation disappears.

So this is your reminder — and mine — you don’t have to feel motivated to show up.

You just have to start.

Keep showing up for yourself.

APRIL CHALLENGE: TOES-TO-BAR

This one wasn’t about everyone having the same goal—it was about everyone working on the same skill at their own level.

For some, it meant getting their first toes-to-bar.
For others, it was continuing to refine and string them together.
And for many, it was showing up, hanging on the rig, and putting in the work with knee raises and progressions.

Different starting points. Same commitment to getting better.

We wrapped it up with our 100 Toes-to-Bar test—and no matter where you landed, the effort and progress were what mattered most.

Drawing Winner: Emma
Awesome job and great work from everyone who took it on.

That’s what this is about. Progress, not perfection. Let’s keep building.

APRIL COMMITTED CLUB

Huge shoutout to everyone who showed up 14+ days in April — that’s what real consistency looks like. Proud of this crew for putting in the work day in and day out.

Drawing Winner: Ms. Sherri
No surprise here… she defines committed. Always showing up and putting in the work. Well deserved!

Had to go live for the drawing to keep things official… some people (cough Melissa 😆) thought it might be rigged.

We see you. We appreciate you. Let’s keep building.

MAY CHALLENGE: LEARN TO PACE LIKE AN ATHLETE
Get in today to complete your test round.

Most workouts aren’t lost because we’re not fit enough…
they’re lost because we go out too fast and fade.

This month we’re building a skill most people never train:

CONTROL

20 minutes. One machine. You vs you.

This isn’t about who can suffer the most—
it’s about who can stay consistent the longest.

What you’ll learn:
• How to start controlled (not emotional)
• How to stay steady under fatigue
• How to finish strong instead of hanging on

Baseline: May 5
Retest: May 29

Same machine. Better ex*****on.

Let’s see who can pace like an athlete.

Murph Prep Monday.

We don’t do this because it’s easy.
We do it because it means something.

Put in the work now—so when the day comes, you’re ready to give your best.

Big congratulations to Coach Justin and his family!

He married off his first child this past Friday—such an incredible milestone.

We’re grateful to have a coach who brings the same energy, care, and leadership to our gym that he clearly brings to his family.

Congrats, Justin—we’re all celebrating with you!

Huge shoutout to Karl

Recently awarded Senior Sailor of the Quarter (Q1) for VP-5 🇺🇸

This is our early morning 5:30am crew member—the one who shows up consistently, puts in the work, and clearly carries that same level of excellence into his career.

Even when he’s on vacation, he’s checking in and getting his workouts done. That kind of discipline isn’t normal… and it shows.

Your gym family couldn’t be more proud of you, Karl. Keep leading from the front.

You do this every day… why?

Because we love it.

It’s not just the workouts.
It’s the people who show up beside you.
The push when you need it.
The laughs between sets.
The feeling when you finish something you didn’t think you could.

It’s hard to explain… but once it gets you, it gets you.

That’s CrossFit.

The TruFit Challenge 2026 may have replaced Festivus this year, but our crew still showed up and showed out.

We had an awesome turnout from the gym, and it was incredible to watch everyone push themselves, support each other, and represent what our community is all about.

A special shoutout to those who stepped onto the competition floor for the very first time — that takes courage. You all did amazing, and this is just the beginning.

Proud of every single one of you. Let’s keep building.
