I have to admit that it was a little overwhelming with as many people we had as part of the film crew showing up at MadHouse to make their movie, but it was one hell of an experience and everyone seemed to just go with it without making a fuss and it was more appreciated than you know!

We couldn’t risk giving out the dates and times of filming because we didn’t want the gym to get flooded with people hoping to sneak in an “unauthorized cameo” so it just had to happen naturally and hope for the best.

It was important to us to help get the movie made and give it the best possible chance of success that we could because I like the idea of putting women in Bodybuilding on a big screen in front of as many people as possible.

Too many women are discouraged from doing things that are considered non-traditional for their gender, and it’s not only men that are doing it, but other women…their families…sometimes even their friends.

Nobody should ever feel bad for living the life that makes them happy, so I HOPE films like this can help make women in Physical Culture more of a mainstream idea. Hopefully when enough people get used to seeing women in the gym they’ll start trying to climb up out of the dark ages and join us in the 2020’s so the ignorance can stop.

Thanks to everyone that saw the inconveniences and chaos and embraced it so we could make our small part of movie history.

Honestly, this is such an unusual back piece and it gave a surprising stretch and a crazy pump right around the shoulder blades. I don’t think we’ve had anything stand apart from everything else like this in a while.

William at ironmothership said he wondered which one would get more attention as they sit side by side on our floor. After using both I’d say it’s the Reflex version without a doubt.

We haven’t been posting a lot because we’ve been working on projects, making sure our involvement in the NPC/IFBB Atlanta Pro Supershow & NPC Atlanta Classic and other collaborative projects were handled well, prep for some filming to be done, and a little road time to make some improvements to our back day.

But ESPECIALLY when we’re quiet, it usually means good things are about to happen at MadHouse Gym. We definitely didn’t expect this one to be as much of a project as it was, but replacing the stack was a really good excuse to go ahead and make it a chain-driven machine, and I think it compliments the way this Pulse Row was built.

A couple of videos were just posted to YouTube featuring MadHouse Gym.

Ron Partlow IFBB Pro🇨🇦 of Mutant on a Mission came to visit our gym and train back in February for the MUTANT® | Est. 2005 YouTube page back in February.

And Laith Mekdad came to film a challenge video for his YouTube page featuring our ridiculously heavy Strongman challenge dumbbells that go as high as 620 pounds each.

I really enjoyed making these videos with both Ron and Laith, and I’d be happy to have either of them back any time. Thanks for featuring our gym, guys!

We’ve had some busy days and a few road trips that have caused me to post a little less than usual.

We were lucky enough to have an extra model of the row machine Percy always wanted and he had the row we always wanted. It’s always nice when things work out that way.

We’ve been squaring some projects away but we’ll be getting things started with tkstarcom very soon to work on some ideas that I think are long overdue.

Today is a sort of an anniversary for us here at MadHouse!

Eleven years ago today, we were already in the basement of a shopping center trying to get our tiny gym ready for business. What was originally planned as a 2,000 square foot mini-gym had already become 4,000 after the neighbors moved out, and we were doing our best to come up with enough equipment to have a respectable gym of our own to train in.

Six years ago today, we had survived the COVID panic and so many other gyms had closed voluntarily before and after the government-forced closure that we had gained some traction and decided to merge our 7,000 square foot Lithia Springs location and our relatively new Austell location (now the Austell Annex) into one major 32,000 square foot location in Mableton, and we were working hard to get the place ready and legal to open.

It still barely even seems possible that a broke guy with some extra Strongman equipment could somehow pull this off without a proper truck for the first several years, moving the gym twice and buying and selling tons of gym equipment with nothing more than a Prius and a small trailer.

Here’s to not giving up. Here’s to the job that changed my life. Here’s to the job that found the woman I was meant to marry. And here’s to you. Without the faith and support of the community, it never would have gotten off the ground.

Sincerely, thank you for giving me the best and most meaningful job and hobby I could ever imagine. Sometimes you have to fight for your blessings, it’s still a very blessed life.

One thing I don’t always mention is that I like to set up kind of far away from the handles because I want to make sure the stack doesn’t come to rest no matter how deep I go into the stretch.

I’m not totally against ballistic training, but when the equipment you use has a good strength profile it makes swinging pointless and detrimental to the set.
