Andreina came in on her lunch break to get measured and go over her first phase. That’s the kind of schedule we’re working with, so we built her plan around it instead of the other way around.

We see each other once a month, in person. That’s it.

We go over form, technique, and whatever questions come up during our session.

The other three days a week she’s training on her own, cardio’s programmed in, nutrition’s built into the plan too, and I’m checking in on her the whole way through for accountability.

Being busy was never going to be the reason her health took a back seat.

It just meant building something that actually fit.

3 reasons you’re not feeling this in your lats.

1. You’re feeling it in your biceps. The second you grip that bar your arms just take over. Think about pulling your elbows down and back toward your hips, not curl your hands up toward your shoulders. Completely different movement. I tell people to imagine putting their elbows in their back pockets. Sounds dumb, but it works every time.

2. You’re feeling it in your forearms. You’re probably just death-gripping the bar. Squeezing that hard turns the whole rep into a forearm workout before your lats even get a chance to work. Dial back with the excessive squeezing and lead through those elbow so that the back gets engaged.

3. You’re starting in the wrong place. Nobody’s doing a strict pull-up on day one, and trying to force one is exactly how you end up muscling through it with your arms and grip instead of your back. Start with a banded, assisted version. This builds the actual pattern without wrecking your forearms and traps trying to fight a rep you’re not ready for yet.

The biggest thing RP Strength | Nutrition & Training taught me? It’s not complicated. It’s the basics. But the basics have to be built around the actual person, not a template.

Here’s the disconnect: social media makes us think we should all be moving at the same speed. You see someone’s progress with zero context (their history, their body, their life), and start measuring yourself against it.

Same thing with food. There’s no “good” or “bad” carb. There’s what works for your body, your goals, your lifestyle. Once clients understand that, everything shifts.

Most people think they’re overeating. Over the last 6 years of coaching dozens of clients, most people aren’t eating enough.

Before anything else, track 5–7 days. Don’t change a single thing yet, and just be honest with what’s actually going on your plate.

That’s when it clicks. You’re either eating more than you thought, snacking way more than you realized, or just not fueling enough.

Get the baseline right. Everything else comes after.

“I’ve had many trainers. This felt different.”

For Jessica, it wasn’t about finding another workout.

It was about learning how to train with intention, getting more consistent with nutrition, and having a coach who genuinely cared about the bigger picture.

That’s what coaching at The Fitness Suite is about.

Not just giving you exercises to do, but helping you understand the why, build better habits, and become more confident in what you’re capable of.

Jessica’s story is hers.

Yours could be next.

Most people don’t have a weight loss problem. They have an “I don’t actually know what I’m eating” problem.

Before you decide on the plan, cutting duration, etc. you need one number: How much are you actually eating right now?

Doesn’t matter what app. Chronometer, Lose It, MyFitnessPal. Pick one and track for a week.

You never know where you want to go if you don’t know where you’re starting from.

Entrepreneurs are usually their own harshest critic.

While everyone else already sees what you’re building.

The self-doubt isn’t the problem.

It’s also pretty useful and it’s what keeps you sharp instead of coasting.

The real danger is complacency.

That’s when you stop moving.

So keep grinding. But check the reason behind it.

There’s a difference between building something and just running in circles out of habit.

Everyone pictures Sunday as the “off” day.

Mine usually looks like a second job.

This past one had equipment to order, and I still needed to figure out where it fits. During the week it’s hours of programming. And somewhere in the cracks, I make time to fit in my own training too.

By the time I actually laid down, I knew I wasn’t getting a full night.

That’s just the trade some weeks. The stress doesn’t clock out just because the gym’s closed.

And through all of it, I’m still trying to actually be present with my family. Not just physically there, actually there.

This is the side nobody sees when they see the finished post.

Most people think progress means eating less.

For two weeks of this challenge, it meant the opposite.

Week three we didn’t touch calories at all. Just made protein the priority and let the rest follow.

Week four, the focus flipped to output. Steps, movement, and showing up for sessions.

Here’s the part that stood out to me watching it play out: the women who didn’t overcomplicate the weeks are the same ones still consistent right now, weeks later.

Restriction isn’t the only way forward.

Sometimes the move is just adding the one right thing and trusting it.
