Hey y’all!
The Lord has been pulling me in a direction that I would like to share. This February, I have the opportunity to go to Costa Rica with Community Life Church! This will be my first mission trip and I am beyond thrilled. We will be building and serving the community, along with outreaches and getting connected with the youth! I’m sharing because I know the Lord will provide the way, and asking anyone who is able to give a donation or just pray for this trip it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance and I can’t wait to share all the Lord will do in Costa Rica. Here are pictures of where my skills in construction will help. Cabana shelters for the local church.

Cedar Creek
EXCELLENT. Slightly stained; 82 degrees; 0.06 feet above pool. Water is partially stained but is clearing up quickly with hot calmer days. Start early in the morning at daylight and hit the dam for hybrids and white bass, or along the western and eastern shorelines of the lake in depths of 4-10 feet. Cast spinnerbaits and slabs and look for schooling fish close to seawalls and shorelines. After that fish any hump in depths of 17--8 feet throughout the lake to find fish stacked up in schools. Use spinnerbaits like a mepps #4 spinner or drop a slab down to the bottom and work it fast up and down and the fish will hit it immediately. Also throwing out a slab and reeling it back with a slow retrieve is also working well. The evening bite from 5-8pm has also been very good. Hit up seawalls close to points in depths of 7-12 feet and cast rattle traps, spoons or sassy shads to get the Hybrids to bite. The crappie bite has been getting increasingly better. Now that the water is receding target crappie with small jigs in 5-12 feet under bridge pylons or under docks. Quick limits are being reported. Guides have been reporting exceptionally nice catches on sunny warmer days. Report by Brent Herbeck, Herbeck’s Lonestar Fishing Guide Service. Decent bite for eater size catfish on humps and points in 16-24 feet on cut shad. Water stained and around in the high 70s low 80s. Report by Jason Barber, Kings Creek Adventures.

Dear Safe Boater,
As we approach Memorial Day weekend, it’s essential to prioritize boating safety. Whether you’re an experienced boater or a novice, here are some crucial tips to keep in mind:

Wear a Life Jacket: Make sure everyone on board wears a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket. It’s the simplest way to prevent drowning.
Check Your Equipment: Before heading out, verify that all essential equipment is operational. This includes navigation lights, sound-producing devices (like a horn or whistle), flares and a fire extinguisher.
Create a Float Plan: Let someone know your boating plans. Share details such as where you’re going, how long you’ll be out and your expected return time.
Stay Sober: Never operate a boat under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Impaired boating can lead to accidents and fatalities.
Watch the Weather: Keep an eye on weather forecasts. Sudden storms can be dangerous on the water.
Know Your Surroundings: Be aware of other boats, swimmers and potential hazards. Lake levels are constantly changing. Maintain a safe speed and distance from other vessels and watch for obstacles in the water.
Comply with Capacity Limits: Don’t overload your boat. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for passenger capacity.
Remember, Memorial Day weekend should be enjoyable, but safety comes first. Have a great time on the water, and stay safe!

Cedar Creek fishing report

EXCELLENT. Stained; 58 degrees; 0.15 feet below pool. White bass are staging in full force for the spring spawn and heading into shallower water, 6-18 feet, and into any shallow creek that has flowing water. Hybrids and white bass continue to be caught deadsticking in 25-35 feet in the mouths of the big creeks. Deadsticking utilizing a thumper and a splasher with deadsticking lures with a 1-1.5 ounce jighead with a tandem hook or jig above it paired with a small plastic fluke. You must keep your drift speeds under .5 mph with the ideal drift being .3 mph utilizing drift socks to keep you slowed down in windy conditions. In the weeks to come hybrids and white bass will continue to migrate to the shallower water from 8-20 feet to spawn and will be easy to find. You may even try trolling a small spinner bait or a hellbender or pet spoon rig at 2 mph in the shallower depths. The crappie bite has picked up in the creeks and inlets in 2-10 feet of water throughout the entire lake. The warm weather will continue to drive these fish shallow to spawn. If you can find a brush pile near a dock you can find them stacked up but most of the crappie have migrated into the creeks or shallow water now. Guides have been reporting exceptionally nice catches on sunny warmer days. Report by Brent Herbeck, Herbeck’s Lonestar Fishing Guide Service.
