Many of my friends and buyū (武友/ martial friend or bother) ask why I finish communiques and post with the phrase, “Be Well and Gassho…!”I believe in the power of words. Words have meaning… Like prayer or Mantra (a word, sound, or phrase repeated to aid concentration in prayer, meditation, and spiritual practices)… Lets break it apart:,
~Be: To exist, occur, or take place
~Well: In a good or satisfactory way. In a thorough manner. In good mental and physical health; free or recovered from illness.
~ Gassho (合掌): A Japanese term that translates to "palms of the hands placed together". It is a ritual hand gesture used in daily life to express reverence, gratitude, and unity…
So I say to one and all: Be Well and Gassho!
