The rain quit for long enough to let us kick off our first meet of the season. The weather was beautiful for a race. Course was a bit muddy but pretty decent considering all the rain we have had. I was really happy with the majority of our performances today. Several newbies and a few who had to make the jump from 1.8m to a 5k. I know they were nervous, but they all did well.
Middle school results:
Leah Hazelbaker 7th, medal earner

Jayden Essien 59th
Leo Garranger 85th, PR
Boys' race had 110 runners. They finished 6th as a team. Proud of all the boys. Max, Grady, and Leo had a particularly great first race as compared to prior years. Really excited to watch these boys develop through the season.

There were 54 runners today, and our girls brought home a team trophy finishing 2nd overall. The girls all did fantastic but I am going to give Sophie Minnis the racer of the day award for the high school. Great way to start!
Dre Lloyd 23rd
Isaiah Berger 27th
Carter Minnis 42nd
Myles Hicks 50th
Parker McCord 53rd, PR
Lucas Bilbrey couldn't score today.
There were 78 total racers. Our boys' team finished 8th overall. I was really thrilled with how our freshman boys, Isaiah and Carter, performed today; but Parker won the runner of the day award for boys with a huge PR and raced like a completely different kid.
Great job to all! Cross Country is the most wonderful time of the year. Back at it next weekend!
Thank you Andy for driving today and to sweet Allie for all her help today. Appreciate you both!
