After 47 amazing years Village Sport Shop has arrived at a point to welcome the closing chapter in a long history with you all. We feel there is a lot to be proud of and grateful for from all the years in operation and are graciously stepping aside and passing the torch forward. In closing this chapter we have transitioned our Trailside operations over to KC&E Adventures. KC&E has operated in the area for many years and is proudly owned and operated by one of our early staff members on Darling Hill, Collin Daulong. Welcome back Collin! We couldn’t imagine a better way to pass the torch and complete the circle as VSS moves into the history books.
We’ve had a wonderful run over the last 47 years thanks to all of your support over those decades. We are eternally grateful for the memories, the opportunities to serve the community, and the cooperation and love from our staff, our customers and our vendor partners; and we are confident that the amazing friendships and partnerships will endure through KC&E’s stewardship.
A lot has happened since VSS was born back in 1978 from John Hibshman's vision ...overseas manufacturing, online retail, social media, Smart wool, epidemics, fires and floods. But through all of the change and at times chaos, there has been one constant, finding refuge, calmness and clarity in nature. Be it Burke Mountain, Kingdom Trails, Lake Willoughby or your own backyard, we have felt blessed to be a part of the positivity that comes from engaging with nature and feeling the freedom it provides!
You all will be forever in our hearts and minds as we transition from the Village Sport Shop family to new ventures ahead! With the utmost gratitude we say THANK YOU to you all!
We look forward to the next steps, and are excited to see what KC&E has in store for the community. It has been an honor and wonderful journey for us at VSS and we are forever grateful for the opportunity to have served you!
