Lynchburg Clay Mustangs Golf Keeps Rolling!

The Mustangs put together another impressive performance, defeating Fairfield and Whiteoak with a team score of 148.

What continues to stand out about this group is just how strong they are from top to bottom. On any given night, any one of these young men is capable of stepping up and putting together a great round.

Nolan Wilkin led the way tonight, finishing strong with a 2 under par 33 and earning medalist honors. Nolan continues to play some outstanding golf and showed again tonight what he is capable of when he gets rolling.

Aiden Bene was right behind him with another great round, shooting an even par 35. Aiden has been playing some really solid golf and continues to be a huge part of this team's success.

Jackson West added a 38, Kristian Beachy shot 42, Austin Manning finished with a 44, and Carson Pfister rounded things out with a 45.

Lynchburg Clay finished at 148, 24 strokes ahead of Fairfield at 172 and 40 strokes ahead of Whiteoak at 188.

The individual talent on this team is impressive, but what makes this group special is that they don't have to depend on just one golfer. Nolan, Aiden, Jackson, Kristian, Austin and Carson have all shown the ability to put up strong numbers. That kind of depth is a tremendous advantage as the season moves forward.

Another great night for Mustang Golf. Keep working, keep competing, and keep pushing each other. There is still plenty of golf ahead!

Lynchburg Clay Mustangs Keep Rolling!

The Lynchburg Clay Mustangs added another impressive victory to their season, defeating Southern Hills Athletic Conference opponent West Union, 152 to 171.

It was another strong team performance for the Mustangs, but the night belonged to Kristian Beachy.

Kristian put together the best round of his high school career, firing a one under par 34 to earn medalist honors! Shooting under par is an accomplishment on any day, but doing it while representing your team in competition makes it even more special. Kristian has continued to work, improve, and contribute to this team, and tonight that hard work showed up on the scorecard in a big way. Congratulations, Kristian, on a new personal best and a well deserved medalist performance!

Aiden Bene and Nolan Wilkin were right behind him, each turning in solid rounds of 39. Jackson West continued his consistent play with a 40.

Another big congratulations goes to Carson Pfister, who fired a 41 and recorded a new high school personal best! Carson has continued to improve, and seeing that work translate into his best competitive round is something worth celebrating. Great round, Carson!

Austin Manning rounded out the Mustang lineup with a 48.

When you look at the leaderboard, you see just how strong this Mustang team was tonight. Lynchburg Clay claimed five of the top six individual spots, including Kristian at the very top.

Lynchburg Clay 152
West Union 171

That is a 19 stroke victory against a conference opponent and another strong showing from a Mustang team that continues to demonstrate its depth. On any given night, someone different can step up and lead the way.

Congratulations to Kristian and Carson on their personal bests, and congratulations to the entire Lynchburg Clay Mustangs golf team on another great win!

Keep it rolling, Mustangs!

What a start to SHAC play for the Lynchburg Clay Mustangs!

Tonight marked the first SHAC golf match of the 2026 season at the Hillsboro Elks, and the Mustangs made quite a statement.

The SHAC tournament has a different format this year, with the league competition being split into multiple rounds. That makes every stroke and every match important as the teams work toward the overall league championship.

After Round 1, Lynchburg Clay has put itself in a tremendous position.

The Mustangs fired a team score of 160, finishing an incredible 17 strokes ahead of the next closest teams. North Adams, Whiteoak, and West Union all finished tied for second with scores of 177.

But the team score only tells part of the story.

Lynchburg Clay absolutely dominated the top of the individual leaderboard, placing four golfers in the top four spots!

Nolan Wilkin led the entire field and earned medalist honors with a 38.

Kristian Beachy finished second overall with a 40.

Aiden Bene and Jackson West each fired a 41, tying for third overall.

Austin Manning rounded out the Mustang lineup with a 46, finishing tied for 21st.

Think about that for a moment. In a field of 50 golfers representing 10 different schools, Lynchburg Clay finished 1st, 2nd, tied for 3rd, and tied for 21st.

That is an incredible display of depth.

Golf is a team sport where every stroke matters, and building a 17 stroke advantage in the opening round is huge. There is still plenty of golf left to play, but these boys could not have asked for a much stronger beginning.

The Mustangs will take that lead into the second SHAC match on September 3 at Friendly Meadows.

Super proud of these boys. They continue to compete for one another, push each other to get better, and represent Lynchburg Clay extremely well.

Round 1 belongs to the Mustangs.

Now, on to Friendly Meadows!

The varsity scores for Lynchburg-Clay were:

Aiden Bene 36, Medalist
Nolan Wilkin 39
Austin Manning 40
Jackson West 40
Kristian Beachy 40
Carson Pfister 45

Another great example of the depth of this Mustang team. With five players shooting 40 or better, Lynchburg-Clay continues to get strong performances throughout the lineup.

The JV Mustangs were also in action, finishing with a team score of 234.

Jayden Pettit led the JV squad with a 55, followed closely by Connor Case with a 58 and Colton Warnock with a 59. Koen Collins rounded out the scoring with a 62.

Great job to both the varsity and JV teams. The Mustangs continue to put together a strong season, and it is exciting to see different players step up and contribute each time they hit the course.

The Lynchburg Clay Mustangs traveled to Hilltop Golf Course outside of Manchester tonight to take on North Adams, and the Mustangs came ready to play!

As a team, the Mustangs fired a 144, just 5 over par, defeating North Adams by an impressive 34 strokes!

Aiden Bene earned match medalist honors with an outstanding even par 35! Aiden was playing some great golf tonight and becomes the fourth different Mustang to earn medalist honors this season. That kind of depth says a lot about this team. Keep it rolling, Aiden!

A huge congratulations goes to Austin Manning, who set a new high school career personal best with an awesome round of 39! All the hard work is paying off. Great job, Austin!

The Mustangs had strong performances throughout the lineup:

Nolan Wilkin: 36, 1 over par
Jackson West: 37, 2 over par
Kristian Beachy: 37, 2 over par

HISTORY MADE!

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs put together one of the greatest rounds in program history today at the Adena Invitational, firing a school-record team score of 298!

Leading the charge were a pair of spectacular performances as Nolan Wilkin and Jackson West shared Medalist Honors, each carding an outstanding 2-under-par 70 to finish tied for first individually!

The Mustangs' record-setting team score was completed by: Kristian Beachy – 79 (T-11) Aiden Bene – 79 (T-11)

Austin Manning also turned in a solid round, shooting an 84 to finish tied for 34th in a talented field of 117 players. Every stroke matters throughout a long season, and having that kind of depth makes this Mustang squad even more dangerous.
