Earlier today on... PLAYING WITH SPIDERS!!
Today was graduation day for my, (meaning me as Leader), my FIRST group of young ones to their FIRST club rank, "The Star of Respect." This was our FIRST Club Graduation. The parents and guardians of these kids came out to watch, cheer, and support the kids through their exam, and each kid gave it their all! The Shotokan Kata called Heian Shodan was the curriculum they were graded on, and I am proud to say that I saw them all rise to the occasion, and meet my demands through focus, study, and much practice.
Personally, I can't express the feeling with words... I knowingly put much pressure on 11 young and novice martial artist. And like any teacher watching the children ace the exam...pride, accomplishment, purpose...those were my rewards today.
Generally, today was a day that one blackbelt confirmed the path of several others to be... But the Spider is on the rise.

Today was a very proud moment for those of us involved with The Spider Clan! Congratulations to all of the students and their leader. You guys have done a wonderful job! A huge thank you to all of the parents and friends of these beautiful kids that showed up to support them! You guys and ladies are amazing!

Practicing Handstand Variations...
Currently, my handstand is less than novice. But, my goal is to have a strong set of variations by summer time. I've noticed that the practice of handstands increases my upper body strength and shapes the shoulder muscles...these facts I like!!!

Last night on... PLAYING WITH SPIDERS!!!
My Young Ones are learning Heian Shodan as their Karate Respect. I'm happy to see how fast they are picking up their first Shotokan form. They gotta get it sharp for our clubhouse graduation in March...

No class this evening, so I practiced myself. Here some highlights I edited together for the joy.
To me... all the martial arts disciplines help you gain and maintain control of your own body at the highest level, and practice is key. It must become as natural and as frequent as any other habit we keep...
