Back Mountain Trail - New Year's Eve 5K

Apologies for the lateness of this post, but we were busy this spring with one race after another.

I didn’t get a chance to mention the $20,000 we raised at the Back Mountain Trail - New Year's Eve 5K to benefit many local non-profits and First responders.

Some of the beneficiaries of this great race this year included Back Mountain Trail, North Branch Land Trust, Nanticoke Conservation Club, Back Mountain Memorial Library, Shavertown Volunteer Fire Department, Harveys Lake Fire & Ambulance, Kunkle Fire Company, Inc., Luzerne Borough, Dallas Lions, Back Mountain Regional Fire, Ems, and Rescue Headquarters, and Wyoming Valley Habitat For Humanity.

Thank you to all the 800 runners, walkers, volunteers and vendors, the Luzerne police and others who make this possible. See you again on New Year’s Eve. Great job NEPA Racing!

HARVEYS LAKE — The lake was calm and serene on Saturday morning, but the surrounding roadway was anything but as a massive group of runners hit the pavement to see who could circle Harveys Lake the fastest.
