Most people hear “engage your core” and immediately think they’re supposed to smash their lower back into the floor, hold their breath, and hope that means something is working. But that’s not deep‑core engagement, that’s just tension layered on top of more tension.
When your deep core is actually doing its job, it’s not forcing anything. It’s about bringing your ribcage and pelvis into alignment so your diaphragm, TVA, and pelvic floor can communicate. When those pieces line up, your core becomes stronger, more responsive, and way better at supporting you through pregnancy, postpartum, lifting your kids, running errands, and everything else your day throws at you.
The wild part is that most people don’t realize how different it feels until they experience it!
Proper alignment is key in eliminating pelvic floor symptoms, healing your core postpartum, and building lasting strength.
