Our NBU family is heartbroken over the loss of Andrew. He was a valued teammate, friend, and member of our community, and the impact he had on those around him will never be forgotten. In moments like these, soccer feels so much bigger than the game itself. We grieve together, we support one another, and we hold Andrew’s family close in our thoughts and prayers during this unimaginable time. We are incredibly grateful to have had Andrew as part of our NBU family, and we will carry his memory with us always. 💙
“It is with profound sadness that Bryan, Sydney and I announce the tragic passing of our son and brother, Andrew Holden Sober on Thursday, May 7. Andrew was 16. A sophomore at Dulaney High School, Andrew succumbed to critical injuries sustained in a car accident last Friday night. Andrew is remembered by family and friends as an avid guitar player, NBU & Dulaney soccer player, wingman for Athletes Serving Athletes, BBYO ‘Peake member, Regal Hunt Valley cinema staff member, and champion watermelon eater. We take great comfort that Andrew’s final act of kindness was to donate his vital organs to save multiple lives. We will honor Andrew’s life on Sunday, May 10 at 1:00 pm at Har Sinai Oheb Shalom Congregation (7310 Park Heights Avenue) followed by a private burial with family. We will observe Shiva following the burial from 5-8 pm at Har Sinai Oheb Shalom Congregation including a brief service at 5:30 pm.”
