AI, Embryo Transfer, and a Horse for the Grandkids

New territory for us: equine artificial insemination and embryo transfer. We picked up a couple of recip mares to get started — including a young mare we call Fancy, who was in training with Amanda Backlund down in Wynnewood. We ended up leasing the recips from CETS instead, but Amanda did such a great job with Fancy that our son had her start a young mare of his that we'd raised.

She’s taken Sandy over obstacles and down the trails and even carried her first short stirrup rider — right on track to be a great horse for the grandkids someday.

After seemingly hundreds of trips to our repro vet, Stillwater Equine, 2027 is when our breeding program really starts to take shape. Stay tuned! More to come!

Electra and the Bosal

After some well-earned time off during breeding season, Roby showed Electra in the bosal at the Wild Rag in Fort Worth and the Hackamore Classic in Tulsa — with great results!

Only her third and fourth shows, she just keeps improving which is what making champions is all about.
